발달장애인의 후견제도 활용을 위한 그림상징카드 개발 연구

Development of Graphic Symbol Cards for the Use of the Guardianship System for People with Developmental Disabilities

배경 및 목적: 발달장애인들이 성년후견제도에 대해 이해하고 제도를 활용하게 하기 위한 노력들로 쉬운 글과 그림으로 구성된 책자들이 발간되고 있으나, 문해력이 없는 중증발달장애인을 대상으로 후견제도를 안내하기에는 여전히 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 접근성이 용이하고 모든 발달장애인이 사용하기에 편리한 카드 형태의 성년 후견제도 이해 자료를 제작하여 후견심판청구과정에서 발달장애인의 의사를 반영한 서비스를 지원하고자 하였다. 방법: 그림상징카드 개발에 필요한 어휘 추출을 위해 선행연구를 고찰한 후, 추출된 119개 어휘에 대한 타당도 평가를 진행하였다. 또한 그림상징 타당도 평가를 진행하여 그림상징의 도상성을 검증할 수 있도록 하였다. 결과: 발달장애인의 후견제도 활용을 위한 그림상징카드는 9가지 영역 157개 어휘로 구성되었으며, 본 어휘 및 그림상징 타당도는 발달장애인 당사자, 보호자, 전문가 등에게 높은 타당도를 나타내었다. 논의 및 결론: 개발된 그림상징카드는 발달장애인의 문해력 증진을 통해 후견제도의 이해 및 활용을 도와 자기결정에 기반한 자립적인 삶을 지원할 것이며, 추후 발달장애인의 특성과 선호를 반영한 그림상징 개발에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 이루어져야 할 것이다.

Background and Objective: A book with simple sentences and pictures has been published to enable people with developmental disabilities to understand and use the guardianship system. But, there remains a limit to introducing the guardianship system to people with severe developmental disabilities in understanding the humanities. Thus, the purpose of this study was to support services that reflect the will of people with developmental disabilities in the process of filing appeals for guardianship by producing data on guardianship in an easy-to-use form. Method: A prior study is considered for extracting vocabulary necessary for graphic symbol cards development, and validity evaluation for the extracted 119 vocabularies was performed. Also, the validity of the graphic symbols were evaluated and the graphic symbols were verified. Results: The graphic symbol cards comprised 157 vocabularies in nine areas, and the validity of the vocabularies and the graphic symbols had shown high validity to the parties to people with developmental disabilities, parents, and experts. Conclusion: Developed graphic symbol cards are designed to enable people with developmental disabilities to understand and use the guardianship system, and to support their independent lives based on self-determination. In the future, research on the development of graphic symbol cards that reflect the characteristics and preferences of people with developmental disabilities should be continuously conducted.
