보완대체의사소통(AAC) 중재를 위한 청소년용 어휘 선택 체크리스트 개발 및 임상적 유용성 고찰

Development and Clinical Usability of Vocabulary Selection Checklist of Adolescents for Augmentative and Alternative Communication(AAC) Intervention

배경 및 목적: 보완대체의사소통 중재 과정에서 어휘 선택이 중요함에도 불구하고 구체적인 어휘선택 방법이나 도구와 관련된 연구는 찾아보기 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 청소년을 대상으로 다양한 지역사회 환경에서 발화를 수집하고 분석한 후 어휘 선택 체크리스트를 제작하여 임상적 유용성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 방법: 중학교에 재학 중인 청소년 6명(남 3명, 여 3명)을 대상으로 다양한 지역사회 환경에서 어휘를 수집한 후 핵심어휘를 분석하여 이를 토대로 ‘어휘 선택 체크리스트’를 제작하였다. 제작된 체크리스트를 주요 정보제공자인 언어재활사, 특수교사 및 부모에게 배포한 후 유용성을 평가하도록 하였다. 평가 문항은 ‘어휘 선택 체크리스트’의 용이성, 적절성, 유용성과 관련된 9가지(객관식 7문항, 주관식 2문항)로 구성되었으며 5점 척도를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 기술통계량을 사용하여 요약하였다. 결과: 정보제공자의 전반적인 임상적 유용성 평가 점수는 4.0점으로 ‘그렇다’에 해당한다. 즉 특수교사(4.1점), 부모(4.0점), 언어재활사(3.8점)순으로 본 체크리스트가 AAC 중재 대상자의 어휘 선택 과정을 촉진하는 데 유용하게 사용될 수 있다고 평가하였다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 청소년기 AAC 중재 대상자의 어휘 선택 과정을 지원하는 체크리스트를 개발하고 실제적인 사용가능성을 제시했다는 데 그 의의가 있다.

Background and Objective: Although vocabulary selection is one of the important factors in the Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) intervention process, it is challenging to identify studies related to methods of specific vocabulary selection, or tools for adolescents. In this study, we examined the usability of the vocabulary selection process by collecting and analyzing speech in various community environments for adolescents, and then producing a vocabulary selection checklist. Method: A vocabulary selection checklist was developed based on the vocabulary collected in various community environments for six middle school students (three males and three females). The clinical usability was investigated by speech language pathologists, special teachers, and parents. The evaluation questions comprised nine categories (i.e., seven objective questions, two subjective questions) associated with appropriateness, ease, and usability of the vocabulary selection checklist, and a 5-point Likert scale was also used. Results: The overall question average score of investigation of clinical usability revealed an average of 4.0 points. This checklist evaluated with the special education teacher (4.1 point), parents (4.0 point), and speech language pathologist (3.8 point) can be used for the vocabulary selection process of AAC intervention. Conclusion: This study is meaningful in that it established a checklist to support the vocabulary selection process of adolescent AAC intervention clients, as well as suggested practical use.
