대구시 다문화청소년의 학업 및 진로발달 경험에 대한 해석학적 연구

A hermeneutic study on the study and career development experiences of multicultural adolescents

본 연구는 다문화청소년의 학업 및 진로발달의 경험을 심층적으로 분석하여, 이들이 위치한 사회적 장에 실재한 잠재된 의미구조가 무엇인지, 또 그것이 어떻게 다문화청소년의 삶에 영향을 미치고 있는지를 고찰하였다. 그리고 각 사례의 경험 속에서 드러난 보편성과 특수성을 비교해 봄으로써, 다문화청소년이 학업과 진로발달 경험에서 선택하고 실천하는 사회 구조적 행위의 인과적 메커니즘이 어떻게 경향성을 드러내는지를 재구성하였다. 이에 총 8명의 다문화청소년을 대상으로 ‘실제 경험한 학업과 진로달발 경험에 대한 내러티브 인터뷰’를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 ‘객관적 해석학’으로 분석하였다. 전체 사례의 재구성 결과, 다문화청소년은 열악한 사회·경제적 삶의 긴급한 필요성에서 자유롭지 못해 학업과 진로발달에 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 또한 단일민족이라는 국민국가의 특성은 다문화청소년으로 하여금 생존을 위한 ‘문화 감추기 게임’과 ‘한국인 되기’라는 모종의 잠정협정에 공모하도록 만들었다. 연구결과를 토대로 사회통합을 위한 다문화청소년의 학업과 진로발달을 돕기 위한 실천 및 정책과제를 논의하였다.

This study conducts an in-depth analysis of study and career development experiences among multicultural adolescents, this by investigating the potential semantic structures presented in their social venues and their influences on the lives of multicultural adolescents. The study also compared compared common and different features among their experiences in each case, reorganizing the ways that the causal mechanism of social structural acts, which multicultural adolescents chose and practiced in their study and career development experiences, revealed it’s tendency. Eight multicultural adolescents participated in a “narrative interview about their actual study and career development experiences,” and the collected data were analyzed using “objective hermeneutics.” The researchers reorganized the entire cases and found that the multicultural adolescents were not free from the urgent needs of their inferior social and economic life and accordingly experienced difficulties with their study and career development. Strongly characterized by the features of state-nation of a single race, the South Korean society led the multicultural adolescents to the provisional agreement of “game of hiding one’s culture” for survival and some symbolic game of “becoming Koreans.” Based on those findings, the study proposed some practical and policy-related tasks to help multicultural adolescents with their study and career development for social integration.
