기독교 사립 고등학교 교목의 삶에 대한 내러티브 탐구

The life of School Chaplain in Christian Private High School: A Narrative Inquiry

본 연구는 기독교 사립 고등학교에서 근무하는 교목의 삶에 대한 경험과 의미를 탐구하기 위해 수행되었다. 연구참여자는 현재 기독교 사립 고등학교에서 기간제 교목으로 근무하고 있는 40대 남성이다. 심층 면접을 통한 자료수집기간은 2023년 5월에서 6월까지이며 총 5회의 면담을 실시하였다. 자료분석은 Clandinin과 Connelly가 제시한 현장에 존재하기, 현장 텍스트로 이동하기, 현장 텍스트 구성하기, 경험에 대한 의미구성, 연구 텍스트 구성의 다섯 단계를 적용하였다. 참여자가 기독교 사립 고등학교에서 교목으로 살아가는 삶의 경험에 대한 의미는 ‘우연을 하나님의 섭리로: 스토리가 이렇게 연결이 돼.’, ‘끊임없는 성찰과 노력: 큰 바위 얼굴을 꿈꾸며’, ‘소진과 자기돌봄: 한 바퀴 돌자.’, ‘불안정한 신분: 제가 기간제잖아요.’ 네 가지로 드러났다. 본 연구 결과는 기독교 사립 고등학교에서 근무하는 교목의 삶에 대한 깊이 있는 이해를 제공하여 초중고등학교 기독교 교육에 있어서 교목에 대한 교육적 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

This study was conducted to explore the experiences and meanings of the lives of school chaplain working in Christian private high school. The participant in the study is man in his 40s who currently work as a fixed-term teacher at a Christian private high school. The data collection period through in-depth interviews is from May to June 2023, and a total of five interviews were conducted. The data analysis applied five stages: present on-site, moving to field text, site text composition, experience meaning composition, and research text composition presented by Clandinin and Connelly. The meaning of the participant life experiences as school chaplain in a Christian private high school turned out to be four categories: “Coincidence as God's providence: This is how the story connects.”; “Continuous reflection and effort: Dreaming of a Great Stone Face.”; “Burn-out and self-care: Let's go around once.”; “Unstable status: I'm a fixed-term.” The results of this study can be used as educational data for school chaplain in elementary, middle, and high school Christian education by providing an in-depth understanding of the lives of school chaplain working in Christian private high school.
