The purpose of this study is to describe hwa-byung healing experience through a case study shown when using Reflected Image Meditation (RIM) for elderly woman in 70s that are experiencing hwa-byung. Methods: As for the method of eliciting healing experience regarding hwa-byung, four steps of meditative counseling and core techniques of RIM were used. The RIM consisted of the following five steps in the sequence: 1) dealing with resistance, 2) reflecting image, 3) facing pain, 4) retelling, 5) forgiving and reconciling. Results: This study based on meditative counseling and narrative comprehensively dealt with healing process using the RIM rather than explaining partial variables of hwa-byung experiences in the area of counselling. In addition, the significance of this study can be found in the sense that unresolved inner incident was healed through manifestation focusing on the interrelation between time and space rather than understanding sectional phenomenon of hwa-byung experience by conducting interview and counseling with research participants. Conclusion: In regards to client``s hwa-byung healing experience, primary healing experience was already experienced by telling her story in the first step of sympathetic support, and it appeared that her tough and rough appearances became stabilized. In the second step of clarification, the meaning, cause and characteristics of hwa-byung experience were discovered in the social and family context. In the third experiential step, RIM was used to allow the participant to meet earnestly with another self that granted hwa-byung to her with negative effects. In the last behavioral step of meditation, Client was able to achieve clear results of being able to plan and design her future days that she needs to live even though she has lived and is living.
