Russell body gastritis (RBG) is a very rare medical condition. It is associated with Helicobacter pylori infection frequently. RBG is characterized by an accumulation of plasma cells with Russell bodies within the gastric mucosa. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy shows diffuse hyperemic, edematous, and nodular erosions with complaints of nausea, epigastric pain, and dyspepsia. The authors report a case of RBG in an 83-year-old female who did not present any gastrointestinal symptom. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy showed diffuse whitish colored, wrinkled mucosal change at upper and mid-lower body of the greater curvature. The biopsy showed RBG with Helicobacter pylori infection. Clinical and pathological awareness to avoid misdiagnosis of RBG is discussed with literature review.
