미술교육에서 미술 매체에 대한 초등교사의 경험과 인식에 관한 연구

A Study on the Elementary School Teachers’ Experience and Perception of Art Media in Art Education

본 연구는 2022 개정 미술과 교육과정에 도입되어 강조된 ‘매체 교육’에 주목하여 초등교사들을 대상으로 미술 매체에 대한 인식과 경험에 관한 현상학적 질적 연구를 수행함으로써 미술 매체 교육의 기초자료를 마련하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 현상학적 심층 면담을 수행하였다. 면담을 분석한 결과, 미술 매체에 대한 교사들의 인식과 경험은 매체의 도구성, 물리적 대상으로서의 매체, 인간 주체 중심적 사고를 기반으로 하고 있었으며 이러한 인식과 경험은 서로의 상관관계 속에 있었다. 또한 교사들은 이러한 인식과 경험을 기반으로 매체 교육의 목적, 방법, 내용, 효과, 미술 매체 탐구 수업의 어려움과 이를 해결하기 위한 지원의 필요성을 이야기하였다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 미술 매체에 대한 교사들의 인식 확장, 미술 매체에 대한 교사 교육 및 예비교사 교육, 교과서를 보조할 수 있는 다양한 자료 개발, 미술 매체를 탐색할 수 있는 수업 시간 확보와 같은 시사점을 도출할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 향후 매체 교육 프로그램 개발, 교과서와 연계된 자료 개발 및 예비교사 교육과 같은 부분에서 기초자료의 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다.

This study conducted qualitative phenomenological research on perceptions and experiences of art media through in-depth phenomenological interviews with elementary school teachers. As a result of analyzing the interviews, teachers recognized and experienced art media based on the instrumentality of the medium, the medium as a physical object, and human subject-centered thinking. From this, the following meaning was derived. These perceptions and experiences of teachers were not only interrelated, but also had an impact on understanding the purpose, method, content, effectiveness, creativity, problem-solving ability, and self-directed learning ability of media education. Furthermore, the teachers' perceptions and experiences became the basis for the difficulties of art media exploration classes centered on the instrumentality, material properties, and subjective human activities of art media and the demand for support to solve them. Based on the results and meaning of this analysis, it needs to expand the perception of teachers who view art media only as instrumental physical objects, to support teacher education and pre-service teacher education, to develop various materials that can support textbooks, and to secure class time for exploration of art media. This study is expected to contribute to the development of future media education programs, the development of materials linked to textbooks, and pre-service teacher education.
