학교 밖 청소년의 자아존중감에 대한 연구 동향: 국내 학술지를 중심으로

Research Trends on Self-esteem of Out-of-School Adolescents: Focused on domestic studies

본 연구의 목적은 학교 밖 청소년의 자아존중감과 관련된 연구의 동향을 통합적으로 파악하여 추후 연구를 위한 시사점을 제시하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 한국교육학술정보원(RISS)에서 ‘학교 밖 청소년 자아존중감’을 검색하여 한국연구재단(KCI)에 등재된 학술지 논문 32편을 대상으로 발행연도, 연구대상, 연구방법, 연구변인, 측정도구로 분석하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국내 학교 밖 청소년 자아존중감과 관련된 논문은 2020년과 2022년에 가장 많이 발행되었다. 둘째, 연구대상으로는 32편의 논문 중 19편이 학업중단 청소년 패널조사(한국청소년정책연구원, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) 데이터를 이용하여 연구되었다. 셋째, 연구방법은 총 32편의 논문 중 30편이 양적연구로 진행되었다. 넷째, 학교 밖 청소년의 자아존중감 측정도구로 최인재 등(2012)의 아동․청소년 정신건강 증진 척도가 19편의 연구에서 사용되었다. 다섯째, 변인별 동향은 개인적 변인과 관련된 논문이 17편으로 가장 많았다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 학교 밖 청소년 자아존중감과 관련된 연구의 주요 시사점 및 향후 제언에 대해 논의하였다.

Objectives: This study presented implications for future research by comprehensively identifying trends in research related to the self-esteem of out-of-school adolescents. Methods: To achieve this, "out-of-school adolescents self esteem" was searched within the Korean Education and Research Information Service(RISS) and came up with 32 academic studies were registered on the Korea Research Foundation (KCI). These papers were analyzed according to the following criteria: published year, research subjects, research methodology, research variables, and measurement tools. The results were as follows. Results: First, papers related to out-of-school adolescents’ self-esteem in Korea were published the most in 2020 and 2022. Second, 19 of 32 papers were studied using data from the Korea Youth Policy Institute, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Third, out of 32 papers, 30 were conducted as quantitative studies. Fourth, as a tool to measure the self-esteem of out-of-school adolescents, the mental health promotion scale for children and adolescents by Choi In-jae et al. (2012) was used in 19 studies. Fifth, as for trends by variable, 17 papers related to personal variables were the most common. Conclusions: Based on these analysis results, the main implications and future suggestions of research related to out-of-school youth self-esteem were discussed.
