중학생의 진로탐색 내러티브 이해: 시간에 대한 인식과 행위

Understanding Middle School Students.' Career Exploration Narrative: Perception and Behavior Regarding Time

본 연구는 진로탐색의 주체인 중학생의 관점으로 진로탐색 경험을 드러내고 그 의미를 이해하고자 하는 목적이 있다. 그리고 이를 토대로 중학생 진로탐색 경험의 교육적 의미를 탐구하고자 한다. 이를 위해 서울, 경기, 충북 지역에 거주하는 여섯 명의 중학생을 참여자로 선정하여 내러티브 탐구를 수행하였다. 연구자는 참여자들을 각각 7회 〜11회 개별 면담하였고, 참여자들의 부모나 친구와의 면담을 함께 진행함으로써 참여자들의 삶의 맥락에서 이들의 경험을 이해하고자 하였다. 연구결과 참여자들의 진로탐색 내러티브의 시간에 대한 인식과 행위는 ‘막연하고 불안한 미래’, ‘미래 수단으로써의 현재 소홀’, ‘몸에 밴 나쁜 습관’, ‘학업과 여가의 불균형’, ‘거짓된 꿈의 연결’, ‘꿈을 통하여 깨닫는 현재의 의미’로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 한 중학생의 진로탐색 내러티브의 시간에 관한 교육적 의미는 ‘꿈을 통하여 현재 삶에 충실하기’, ‘꿈을 위한 습관 만들기’, ‘공부와 삶의 균형’이라고 할 수 있다.

This study aims to reveal and understand the experiences of career exploration from the perspective of middle school students, who are at a crucial stage of career development and the main subjects of career exploration. Additionally, it seeks to explore the educational significance of middle school students' career exploration experiences based on this. The study conducted narrative inquiry with six middle school students selected as participants from 3 regions. The researcher gained an understanding of their narratives through individual interviews conducted with each participant and their parents or friends to understand their experiences within the context of their lives. The research findings revealed participants' perceptions and behaviors regarding the time spent on career exploration narratives, which included vague and anxious future, neglecting the present as a means for the future, unhealthy habits affecting the body, imbalance between academics and leisure, connections to false dreams, and realizing the present meaning through dreams. The educational significance of career exploration narratives includes being faithful to current life through dreams, developing habits for dreams, and achieving a balance between studies and life.
