탈종교 시대, 메타버스에서 유교 교육의 역할과 과제: 주자(朱子)를 중심으로

The Role and Task of Confucian Education in the Metaverse during the Age of De-Religionization: Focusing on Zhuzi

[연구 목적] 본 연구의 목적은 비종교인 비율이 높은 MZ세대가 메타버스에서 활발히 활동하므로, 탈종교 시대에 메타버스에서 유교 활동을 촉진하기 위한 것이다. 또한 최근 메타버스 윤리 문제가 늘어가는 시점에 메타버스에서의 유교 활동이 메타버스 윤리원칙을 지키게 하는 종교적 역할을 하는지를 고찰하기 위한 것이다. [연구 내용] 본 연구는 법적인 강제력 없어서 메타버스 윤리원칙을 지키지 않는 문제 해결의 대안으로 유교의 덕치(德治)를 제시한다. 덕을 갖추어서 자발적으로 준칙을 지키게 하는 주자의 수기(修己)는 윤리원칙을 어기는 행동을 보고 윤리원칙을 지켜야 하는 까닭을 깨달아서 윤리원칙을 지키는 군자 아바타를 기르는 개인 교육의 토대가 된다. 치인(治人)은 윤리원칙을 어길 때 발생하는 일을 예측하면서 윤리원칙을 지키는 군자 아바타를 모방하게 하는 공동체 교육의 토대가 된다. [결론] 덕치로 유덕(有德)한 풍속을 불러일으키는 유교가 메타버스 윤리원칙을 지키지 않는 문제를 해결하는 역할을 할 수 있으므로, 논자는 탈종교 시대에 불가피하게도 유교가 요구된다고 본다. 그러나 메타버스에서 탈종교 문제를 해결하고자 할 때 당면하는 과제는 실제와 다르게 도덕적 감화가 어렵고, 메타버스 종교활동이 깊은 신념을 지니게 하거나 수양에 몰입하게 하기 어려우며, 컴퓨터를 능숙하게 다루지 못하는 노년층이 메타버스 종교활동에 참여하기 어렵다는 데 있다.

[Objective] The purpose of this study is to promote Confucianism activities in the metaverse in an era of non-religion, given the high proportion of non-religious individuals in the MZ generation who are actively involved in the metaverse. It also aims to examine whether Confucianism activities in the metaverse play a religious role in adhering to metaverse ethical principles at a time when metaverse ethical issues are increasing. [Contents] This study proposes the virtue of Confucianism as an alternative to solve the problem of not adhering to metaverse ethical principles due to the lack of legal enforcement. Zhuzi’s self-discipline, which voluntarily adheres to rules by possessing virtue, becomes the foundation of individual education that cultivates a gentleman avatar who realizes why they should adhere to ethical principles after seeing actions that violate them. Governing the World becomes the foundation of community education that makes one imitate a gentleman avatar who adheres to ethical principles while predicting what happens when ethical principles are violated. [Conclusions] Confucianism, which brings about virtuous customs through Rule by Virtue, can play a role in solving the problem of not adhering to metaverse ethical principles. Therefore, the author sees that Confucianism is inevitably required in an era of non-religion.
