교사-학부모의 관계에 대한 어려움과 한계 -유아교사의 교사정체성 변화과정을 중심으로-

Difficulties and limitations of the relationship between teachers and parents: Focusing on the process of changing the teacher identity of early childhood teachers

본 연구는 연구자이자 연구참여자인 ‘나’의 교사정체성 변화과정을 중심으로 교사-학부모의 관계에 대한 어려움과 한계를 다룬 자전적 내러티브이다. 본 연구를 통해 교사와 학부모 역할을 바탕으로 교사-학부모의 관계를 둘러싼 다양한 사건과 그 안에서 느꼈던 감정, 생각, 관점 등의 경험을 성찰하였다. 그 결과 ‘나로서 나인 나: 교사인 나’와 ‘너로서 나인 나: 교사이자 엄마인 나’의 두 범주가 도출되었다. 첫째, ‘나로서나인 나: 교사인 나’에서 연구자는 전문성을 가진 교사라는 역할에 몰입하여 교사 정체성을 형성하며 학부모와의 관계에서 갈등을 경험하였다. ‘유아교육 전문가? 그저 어린 교사’, ‘이론적으로도 감정적으로도 불편한 교사’는 갈등을 겪는 과정 속에서 연구자가 느낀 힘듦과 어려움을 여실히 보여준다. 둘째, ‘너로서 나인 나: 교사이자 엄마인 나’에서 연구자는 학부모가 되어 자녀의 교사와 관계를 맺으며 나 자신에 대한 반성적 성찰을 하게 되었다. ‘진심으로 공감하는 교사’와 ‘자녀의 교사를 보며 성장해가는 교사’로 나타난 성찰의 내용은 역할 변화를 통해 교사정체성 변화과정을 경험하며 교사-학부모의 관계를 성찰해보는 과정을 보여준다. 이를 통해서 교사의 직업인으로서의 삶과 더불어 교사 개인의 삶에 대한 조명을 통해 교사-학부모의 관계에 대한 어려움과 한계를 극복할 실마리를 찾아보고자 하였다.

This study is an autobiographical narrative that deals with the difficulties and limitations of the relationship between teachers and parents, focusing on the process of changing the teacher identity of 'I', a researcher and research participant. Through this study, based on the roles of teachers and parents, various events surrounded by the relationship between teachers and parents and experiences such as emotions, thoughts, and perspectives felt in it were reflected. As a result, two categories were derived: 'I as me: I am a teacher' and 'I as you: I am a teacher and mother'. First, in 'I as me: I am a teacher', the researcher immersed herself in the role of a teacher with expertise and formed a teacher identity, and struggled with the actions and words of parents. 'Early childhood education expert? Just a young teacher' and 'a teacher who is uncomfortable both theoretically and emotionally' clearly show the hard and difficulties. Second, in 'I as you: I am a teacher and mother', the researcher became a parent and began to reflect on herself by forming a relationship with the teacher of her child. The contents of the reflection that appeared as 'a teacher who sincerely sympathizes' and 'a teacher who grows while watching a teacher of a child' show the process of the teacher's identity changing through a role change and reflecting on the relationship between the teacher and parents. Through this, we tried to find implications for this by examining the difficulties and limitations of the relationship between teachers and parents.
