The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between changes in muscle tension in the tibialis anterior (TA) and gastrocnemius medial and lateral head and spatio-temporal gait when sitting and standing positions were performed in chronic stroke patients. The general characteristics of the study subjects were analyzed by descriptive statistics. For the evaluation of muscle tension, a corresponding sample t-test was conducted on the sitting and standing posture for the frequency (F), dynamic stiffness (S), and decrement (D). Spearman correlation analysis was applied to find out the correlation between muscle tension and spatio-temporal walking of the affected leg during the sitting and standing posture. The significance level was set to 0.05. In the sitting and standing posture, the changes in the muscle tension of the TA, gastrocnemius medial and lateral head showed significant changes in all items except for item D of the TA (p<0.05). In the results of the correlation study with spatiotemporal gait, there was a significant correlation between gait speed and D items of the TA, and segmentation speed was significantly correlated between F items of the TA and S items of gastrocnemius medial muscle (p<0.05). In the results of a study on the correlation between standing posture and spatio-temporal gait, gait speed, step time and step length difference showed a significant correlation with gastrocnemius medial muscle, and a significant correlation with the step length difference and the F item of the TA (p<0.05).
