청소년 시기 학업적 자아개념의 종단적 변화와 학업스트레스, 부모 학업지원의 동시효과 분석

Longitudinal Changes in Self-Concept during Adolescence and Concurrent Effects of Academic Stress and Parental Academic Support

연구목적: 본 연구는 청소년 시기 학업적 자아개념의 종단적 변화와 그에 영향을 미치는 학업 스트레스, 부모 학업지원의 동시효과를 살펴보는 것이 목적이다. 연구대상 및 방법: 본 연구대상은 한국교육종단연구 2013의 3차년도(중1)∼8차년도(고3) 7324명의 패널자료이다. 이 자료는 중학교 1학년부터 고등학교 3학년까지 남학생 3,623명, 여학생 3,701명으로 이루어져 있다. 수집된 자료를 토대로 학업적 자아개념의 종단적 변화를 선형모형, 이차함수모형, 분할함수모형을 살펴 본 이후 학업스트레스, 부모 학업지원의 동시효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과: 청소년들의 학업적 자아개념은 학년의 증가에 따라 점차 감소했으며, 중학교에서 고등학교로 전환되는 시기에 학업적 자아개념의 감소세가 더 빠른 양상을 보였다. 학업스트레스와 부모 학업지원의 동시효과를 검증한 결과, 부모 학업지원은 정적인 영향을 미쳤고 학업스트레스는 부적인 영향을 미쳤다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 중, 고등학교 시기 학업적 자아개념의 변화 양상을 살펴보고, 학업스트레스와 부모 학업지원의 동시효과를 바탕으로 학업적 자아개념의 감소를 낮추기 위한 방안을 모색했다는 점에서 교육적 의미를 갖는다.

Purpose: This study examines longitudinal changes in academic self-concept during adolescence and the concurrent effects of academic stress and parental academic support. Participant and Method: The panel data were 7,324 respondents from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Education 2013. Model comparisons used to explain the longitudinal changes in academic self-concept with the fit of goodness and the simultaneous effects of academic stress and parental academic support were analyzed. Results: Adolescents' academic self-concept gradually decreased with increasing grades, and the decline in academic self-concept increased more rapidly during the transition from middle school to high school. As a result of verifying the simultaneous effects of academic stress and parental academic support, parental academic support continued to have a positive effect, and academic stress continued to have a negative effect. Conclusion: This study is meaningful in that it confirmed the pattern of changes in academic self-concept throughout middle and high school and found that parental academic support has a positive effect, but academic stress harmed academic self-concept.
