A study on professional ethics and community ethics of dental technicians

Background: In this study, we aim to provide basic data that can be helpful in developing measures to increase professional ethics awareness as health care professionals by identifying and analyzing the contents of dental technicians' professional ethics awareness and community ethics. Methods: The subjects of this study were 87 dental technicians from October 1 to October 10, 2023. Surveys were used for analysis. The spss 21.0 statistical program was used to analyze the collected data. Frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and regression analysis were performed. Results: The average score for professional ethics was 3.33 points, and the average score for community ethics was 4.11 points. There was a statistically significant difference in those who were older and those who completed continuing education and professional ethics education (p<0.05). Factors that had a statistically significant impact on dental technicians' sense of professional ethics included service and responsibility (p=0.024) and law compliance (p=0.012). Conclusion: Among the factors that had a statistically significant impact on dental technicians' sense of professional ethics, the law compliance factor along with service and sense of responsibility were found to be significant related variables.
