예비유아교사의 음악 개념에 대한 자기인식과 실제이해

Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers’ Self-Perception and Actual Understanding of Musical Concepts

본 연구는 예비유아교사의 음악 개념에 대한 자기인식과 실제이해를 알아보고, 자기인식과 실제이해 간의 관계를 확인하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구대상은 수도권 소재 8개 대학 유아교육과 재학생 387명이며, 음악 개념 자기인식은 Kim, Lee, Kwon, & Park(2011)의 ‘유아 교사 음악적 개념 실제이해 측정 도구’ 중 자기인식 부분, 실제이해는 Kwak(2021)의 ‘예비유아교사의 음악 개념 이해 측정 도구’를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 예비유아교사의 음악 관련 교육 경험 기간과 ‘유아음악교육’ 수강 여부에 따라 4개 집단으로 나누어 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예비유아교사의 음악 개념 자기인식과 실제이해 모두 음악 관련 교육 경험 기간이 3년 이상이고 ‘유아음악교육’을 수강한 집단이 가장 높았고, 음악 관련 교육경험 기간이 3년 미만이고 ‘유아음악교육’을 수강하지 않은 집단이 가장 낮았다. 둘째, 음악 개념 자기인식과 실제이해 간의관계는 음악 관련 교육 경험 기간이 3년 이상이고 ‘유아음악교육’을 수강한 집단에서 통계적으로 유의한 개념이 많았다. 이러한 결과는 예비유아교사의 음악 관련 교육 경험 기간과 ‘유아음악교육’ 수강 여부에 따라 음악 개념에 대한 자기인식과 실제이해 정도가 다를 뿐만 아니라 스스로 알고 있다고 생각하는 것과 실제로 알고 있는 것 간의 간극이 존재할 수 있으므로실제이해에 기반한 음악교육이 실행되어야 함을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze pre-service early childhood teachers’ self-perception and actual understanding of musical concepts, and to identify the relationship between self-perception and actual understanding. The subjects of this study were 387 pre-service early childhood teachers. The data was collected based on the measurements developed respectively by Kim, Lee, Kwon & Park (2011) for self-perception and Kwak (2021) for actual understanding of musical concepts. The results of the analysis of the four groups according to the period of pre-service early childhood teachers’ musicrelated education and the completion of a ‘music education for early childhood’ course are as follows. First, as for self-perception and actual understanding of musical concepts, the group with more than 3 years of music-related education experience and the completion of the course was the highest, the group with less than 3 years of experience and without completion of the course was the lowest. Second, as for the relationships between self-perception and actual understanding of musical concepts, the group with more than 3 years of experience and the completion of the course had the most statistically significant correlations. These results suggest that music education based on actual understanding of musical concepts should be implemented for pre-service teachers, because of the differences between what they think they know and what they actually know, as well as their self-perception and actual understanding of musical concepts depending on their music-related education experience and the completion of a ‘music education for early childhood’ course.
