주거 약자의 지원주택 적응 경험에 관한 연구

A Study on the Experience of Adaptation to Supportive Housing of the Housing Disadvantaged

본 연구는 A시 B사회복지기관 지원주택 사업에 참여한 당사자들의 거주 경험을 심층적으로 이해하기 위해서 질적 사례 연구를 진행하였다. 연구 참여자 7명은 노숙경험자, 지체장애인, 지적장애인 등 주거약자로 이루어져있다. 본 연구는 연구참여자들이 지원주택 입소 이전부터 입주 후 적응의 여정을 살펴보았으며 심층인터뷰, 상담일지, 사례관리기록, 관련 문서 등을 통해 참여자들의 지원 주택에서의 거주 경험, 장애물과 도전 및 성장을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 대주제는 ‘지원주택 입주 이전 경험: 인간의 존엄을 포기하게 하는 어려움’, ‘장애물 극복: 나의 양가감정과 적응의 어려움’, ‘새로운 생활에 뿌리내리기’, ‘나의 성장을 기반으로 스스로 살아가는 삶을 향해 나아감’으로 도출하였다. 지원주택에 입주하기 전 연구참여자들은 가정환경의 요인, 개인 병력과 경제적 파산 등으로 주거불안정을 경험하였다. 그들은 지원주택 입주 후 건강의 문제, 불안감, 낙인감, 높은 스트레스를 겪으며 일상생활이 깨지거나 건강이 악화되는 등의 어려움을 겪지만 집중적 주거유지지원서비스를 통해서 지원주택 생활에 서서히 적응하게 된다. 참여자들은 적응의 어려움을 넘어서면서 자신의 열망을 기반으로 스스로의 미래를 준비해가는 역동적 성장의 과정을 겪어냄을 포착할 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과를 통해서 지원주택에 입주한 주거약자들의 역동적 적응 경험을 심층적으로 분석할 수 있었으며, 이를 토대로 지원주택사업에 대한 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

This study conducted a qualitative case study to gain insights into the residential experiences of the parties who participated in the supportive housing project of social welfare Institution B in City A. The study participants examined the journey of adaptation after entering the supportive housing through in-depth interviews, counseling journals, case management records, and related documents. Before moving into supportive housing, the study participants experienced housing instability. After moving into supportive housing, they faced several challenges and suffered from health problems, anxiety, stigma, and high stress; however, they gradually adapted to life in supportive housing through residential maintenance support services. Participants expressed that they went through dynamic growth to prepare for the future based on their own aspirations. Through the results of this study, practical implications for support housing were suggested.
