초연결 시대의 고립된 자아를 위한 돌봄으로서 음악교육 탐색

Exploring Music Education as Care for the Isolated Self in the Hyper-connected Era

본 논문은 초연결 시대가 오히려 고립되고 외로운 자아를 만들고 있다는 문제의식에서 출발한다. 음악은 외로움을 완화하고 달래주는 특징이 있지만, 음악을 매개로 타자와 따뜻한 관계를 맺을 수 있는 자아를 길러내기 위해서는 음악교육의 역할과 방안에 대한 학문적 논의가 필요하다. 이에 연구자는 자아는 관계적으로 형성되는 것이라고 주장한 돌봄 윤리에 기반하여 돌봄으로서 음악교육을 탐색하였다. 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 돌봄 윤리의 교육적 가치는 무엇인가? 둘째, 음악에서 돌봄의 요소는 무엇인가? 셋째, 돌봄으로서 음악교육의 실천적 방안은 무엇인가? 결론적으로 돌봄으로서 음악교육은 첫째, 돌봄으로서 협업 음악으로 학습자와 교사 그리고 학습자 간 돌봄 관계를 형성해야 하고, 둘째 음악 수업은 일상적 대화와 음악이 연계되는 공감적 공간이 되어야 하며 셋째, 학교 그리고 학교와 지역사회 연계를 통해 돌봄으로서 음악을 실천함으로써 학습자들이 속한 공동체의 경계를 넓힐 수 있어야 한다. 결국 돌봄으로서 음악교육은 개별적 자아가 세상에 개방되고 연결될 수 있도록 음악으로 따뜻한 말을 건네는 것이다.

This paper begins with the recognition that the hyperconnected era is fostering isolated and lonely selves. Music possesses the ability to alleviate and soothe loneliness, yet academic discourse on the role and methods of music education is imperative to foster individuals capable of forming warm relationships through music. Accordingly, the researcher delves into music education as care, grounded in care ethics, which posits that the self is shaped relationally. The research questions are as follows: First, what are the educational values of care ethics? Second, what are the elements of care in music? Third, what are the practical measures for music education as care? In conclusion, music education as care must, firstly, fostering a caring relationship between learners and teachers, as well as among learners, through collaborative music as caring. Second, music classes should serve as empathetic spaces where everyday conversation and music are seamlessly intertwined. Third, it should be feasible to broaden the boundaries of the community to which learners belong by practicing music as a form of care through school and school-community connections. Ultimately, music education as care involves conveying warm sentiments through music, enabling the self to unfold and connect with the world.
