예술의 ‘관계와 연결’ 형태와 뮤지엄의 역동적 변화

본 논문은 디지털 네트워크 시대에 ‘관계와 연결’의 예술이 뮤지엄의 기능을 어떻게 변화하게 하는지 상관관계 등을 고찰하였다. 우선 니꼴라 부리오의『관계 미학』과 데이비드 조슬릿의『예술 이후』를 바탕으로 ‘관계와 연결’이라는 예술의 확장적 특성을 논의하고, 이러한 예술이 뮤지엄의 일정한 기준이나 한계를 넘어서 변화시키고 있음을 논하였다. 뮤지엄은 식사를 대접하거나 사교를 하는 플랫폼의 기능을 하는 공간으로 조성되거나, 정치 담론의 장으로 활용되었다. 예술과 뮤지엄은 사회적, 문화적, 정신적인 환경에 연접하여 삶과 예술의 경계를 허물고 공동체를 형성하는 계기를 만들었다. 요약하면 ‘관계와 연결’의 예술은 수평적 위계질서 속에서 대립하는 경계를 허물고, 공동체의 다양성을 존중한다. 그리고 뮤지엄은 행동을 제한하는 경계를 허물고, 관객은 행동의 권리를 확립한다. 이처럼 ‘관계와 연결’의 예술은 뮤지엄과 상호작용을 하여 다양한 형태를 만들어 내고, 사회화와 담론화를 통해 가치교환의 형태로 확장된다. ‘관계와 연결’의 예술은 내면에 대한 성찰에서 타자와의 상호 관계로 전환된 형태이다. 이는 정태적인 박물관의 제한된 환경을 역동적으로 변화시키며 예술과 삶의 관계를 재맥락화한다.

This paper examines how the art of ‘relationship and connection’ changes the function of museums in the era of digital networks. First, based on Nicolas Burriaud’s Relatioship aesthetics and David Joselit’s After Art, the expansive characteristics of art of relationship and connection were discussed, and that these arts are changing beyond certain standards or limits of museums. The museums was created as a space that served as a platform for dining or socializing or used as a venue for political discourse. Art and Museums have created an opportunity to break down the boundaries between life and art and form a community in relation to the social, culture, spiritual environment. In summary, ‘relationship and connection’ art breaks down opposing boundaries in a horizontal hierarchy and respects the diversity of community. And the museum breaks down the boundaries that restrict behavior, and the audience sets the right to action. In this way, the art of ‘relationship and connection’ interacts with miseums to create various forms, and expands into a form of value exchange through socialization and discourse. The art of ‘relationship and connection’ is a form that has shifted form reflection on the inside to interrelationships with others. This dynamically changes the limited environment of a static museum and recontextualizes the relationship between art and life.
