경제적 어려움이 청소년의 외로움 및 사회적 고립에 미치는 영향: 디지털 소통․협력의 조절효과

Impact of Financial Hardship on Loneliness and Social Isolation of Adolescents: Moderating Effects of Digital Communication and Collaboration

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 경제적 어려움이 외로움 및 사회적 고립에 미치는 영향력을 확인하고, 디지털 소통․협력의 조절효과를 검증하는데 있다. 자료수집은 2023년 10월부터 11월까지 1달 간 이루어졌으며, 최종적으로 301부를 분석에 활용하였다. 자료분석은 spss 26.0을 활용하였고, 조절효과 검증을 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 경제적 어려움이 외로움 및 사회적 고립에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 경제적 어려움 수준이 높을수록 외로움 및 사회적 고립도 높아졌다. 둘째, 디지털 소통․협력은 경제적 어려움과 외로움 및 사회적 고립 사이에서 조절효과를 보이는 것으로 확인되었다. 즉 디지털 소통․협력 수준이 낮은 집단에서는 경제적 어려움이 증가할수록 외로움 및 사회적 고립의 증가 경향이 강하게 나타나는 반면, 디지털 소통․협력 수준이 높은 집단에서는 경제적 어려움이 증가하더라도 외로움 및 사회적 고립의 증가 경향은 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로, 청소년의 외로움 및 사회적 고립 감소를 위한 경제적 지원 방안, 디지털 소통․협력 증진 방안에 대해 논의하였다. 본 연구는 청소년의 외로움 및 사회적 고립 감소를 위한 기초자료를 제공했다는 데 의의가 있다.

This study aims to examine the influence of financial hardship on loneliness and social isolation of adolescents, while exploring the moderating effects of digital communication and collaboration. Data collection took place over one month from October to November 2023, with 301 cases finally utilized for analysis. SPSS 26.0 was employed for data analysis, along with hierarchical regression analysis to verify the moderating effect. The findings were as follows: First, financial hardship of adolescents had a significant effect on loneliness and social isolation. In other words, the higher the level of financial hardship, the greater was the loneliness and social isolation. Second, digital communication and collaboration were found to moderate the relationship between financial hardship and loneliness and social isolation. In groups with lower levels of digital communication and collaboration, the trend of loneliness and social isolation was stronger as financial hardship rose, while groups with high levels of digital communication and collaboration showed less susceptibility to loneliness and social isolation even when financial hardship increased. Implications of the study’s findings for implementing economic support measures and promoting digital communication and collaboration to mitigate loneliness and social isolation in adolescents were discussed. This study provides foundational data for addressing the issues of loneliness and social isolation in adolescents.
