일상재구성법(Day Reconstruction Method)을 통해 살펴본 기혼 중년여성의 일상경험과 정서

Exploring Daily Experiences and Emotions of Married Middle-aged Women through Day Reconstruction Method

본 연구의 목적은 기혼 중년여성들의 일상에서 경험하는 활동과 정서를 탐색함으로써, 이들이 어떤 활동을 하며 누구와 함께 있을 때 행복한지 파악하는 것이었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 일상재구성법(Daily Reconstruction Method)을 활용하여 284명의 기혼 중년여성을 대상으로 주중과 주말의 일상활동, 함께 한 사람, 그 시기의 정서에 관한 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저, 주중에 기혼 중년여성들은 가장 많은 시간을 홀로 가사활동으로 보내며, 이 때 가장 행복하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 주중에는 두 번째로 많은 시간을 직장에서 동료들과 함께 보냈는데, 이 때 여성들은 긍정적인 정서도 느꼈지만 동시에 부정적인 정서도 경험하였다. 반면, 주말에는 여가활동과 충분한 휴식을 통해 긍정적인 정서를 더 많이 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 가족과 함께 하는 여가활동은 기혼 중년여성에게 큰 행복을 제공하였다. 또한, 주중과 주말 모두에서 친구와 어울릴 때 여성들이 최대의 행복을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 기혼 중년여성들은 주중에 비해 주말에 더 큰 행복감을 느꼈고, 특히 취업한 여성들이 전업 주부들에 비해 더 큰 행복감을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 기혼 중년여성의 행복에 대한 구체적인 맥락을 밝힘으로써, 기혼 중년여성들의 삶을 심층적으로 이해하는 데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the activities and emotions of married middle-aged women in their daily lives, with an emphasis on identifying the specific factors contributing to their happiness. The Day Reconstruction Method was employed to collect and analyze data from 284 married middle-aged women, focusing on their weekday and weekend routines, companionship, and emotional states. The findings are as follows: On weekdays, married middle-aged women predominantly engaged in household activities alone, experiencing lower levels of happiness during these times. Work-related activities on weekdays, which saw the second-highest allocation of time, elicited both positive and negative emotions, with social interactions in the workplace playing a significant role. Conversely, on weekends, women exhibited a propensity for heightened positive emotions stemming from leisure activities and sufficient rest. Particularly noteworthy was the significant happiness derived from leisure activities involving family members. Furthermore, irrespective of the day of the week, the highest levels of happiness were consistently experienced when married middle-aged women socialized with their friends. They tended to experience greater levels of happiness on weekends, with employed women in particular reporting higher levels of happiness compared to housewives. This study provides insights into the happiness of middle-aged women, offering a nuanced understanding of the lives of this demographic.
