교육과정 개정과 대입제도 개편에 따른 계열 간 교차지원 관련 언론 보도 텍스트 분석

Analysis of news article on the Cross-Disciplinary College Applications in response to National Curriculum Reform and College Admissions Reform

본 연구의 목적은 교육과정 개정과 대입제도 개편이 계열 간 교차지원 양상에 미치는 영향과 교차지원 관련 쟁점을 분석하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 1997년 1월 1일부터 2023년 11월 30일까지 국내 주요 언론매체에서 보도한 교차지원 관련 뉴스기사 총 2,371건을 웹 스크래핑하여 주제어 빈도분석과 구조적 토픽 모델링 분석을 실시하였다. 토픽 분석 결과, 뉴스기사에서 보도된 교차지원 관련 쟁점으로 ‘공교육 정상화와 사교육비 경감을 위한 대책 마련’, ‘특성화 인재 양성을 위한 지원 정책’, ‘수시 전형 변화 및 지원 전략’, ‘자연계열 학생의 인문계열 진학 현상과 문·이과 통합수능 실시’, ‘이공계 기피현상과 지원 정책’, ‘인문계열 학생의 자연계열 진학 현상과 전형 및 과목에 따른 유불리’,‘대입 전형 및 모집 방식에 따른 지원 전략’ 등 총 7개의 토픽이 도출되었다. 도출된 토픽을 중심으로 시기별 토픽 출현 비율의 추이를 분석하였고, 이를 바탕으로 주요 교육정책 시행에 따른 토픽별 출현율 양상 및 주요 쟁점 변화를 살펴보았다. 마지막으로, 교차지원의 현황과 원인을 분석하고 개선 방향에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of national curriculum reform and college admissions reform on the evolving nature of cross-disciplinary college applications and to identify the key issues associated with cross-disciplinary college applications through an analysis of news articles published by mainstream mass media outlets. For this purpose, a total of 2,371 news articles related to cross-disciplinary college applications published by mainstream mass media outlets from January 1, 1997, to Novermber 30, 2023, were collected using web scraping method, and keyword frequency analysis and Structural Topic Modeling (STM) were conducted. The main results of the study are as follows. First, over the course of 26 years, 7 topics related to cross-disciplinary college applications reported in news articles were extracted, including ‘Plans for the promotion of public education and reduction of private education expenses’, ‘Policies for supporting students with specialized talents’, ‘Early admissions procedures and support strategies’, ‘Trends of natural science students enrolling in liberal arts majors and the introduction of integrated CSAT’, ‘Avoidance of science and engineering majors and support policies’, ‘Application strategies based on admission types’, and ‘Trends of liberal arts students enrolling in natural science majors and advantages and disadvantages based on admission types and subjects’. Second, the appearance rate of topics and the major issues varied across different phases of the integrated education system. Lastly, based on the results of this study, implications regarding the issues and directions for improvement of support were derived.
