고등학교 미술교과서 분석을 통한 유니버설 디자인교육의 활성화 방안 연구: 사회적 조망수용능력을 중심으로

A study on Activating Methods of Universal Design Education through Analysis of High School Art Textbook: Focusing on Social Perspective-Taking Abilities

본 연구는 2015 개정 고등학교 미술 교과서의 유니버설디자인 관련 내용을 분석하고자 한다. 나아가 교사 심층 인터뷰와 종합해 사회적 조망수용능력에 이를 수 있는 유니버설 디자인교육의 활성화 방안을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 유니버설 디자인은 미술교육이 사회성을 함양하는 교육적 효과 측면에서 자아중심적인 사고에서 벗어나 타인을 배려하고 세상을 바라보는 사회적 조망수용능력과 관련이 깊다. 이를 위해 2015 개정 고등학교 미술 교과서 10종에 수록된 유니버설 디자인 관련 내용을 세부 분석 기준에 따라 구성·내용 분석하였다. 또한, 유니버설 디자인교육 경험이 있거나 디자인 전공자인 현직 미술교사 총 6명에게 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 수집된 결과물 및 자료는 질적 분석하였다. 연구 진행 결과, 교과서에서 유니버설 디자인의 개념을 명확히 제시하고 학생 활동과 연계성을 높일 필요가 있다는 결론을 도출할 수 있었다. 교사 인터뷰 결과, UD교육이 저조한 원인에 대해서는 교과 시수 부족, 학생의 흥미도 고려, 중요도에 따른 후순위 선택 등 이유가 있었다. 유니버설 디자인교육의 기대효과로 사회적 조망수용능력 함양으로 학생의 전인적 성장을 기대하는 현장의 필요를 확인하였다. 유니버설 디자인을 주제로 진행한 수업을 통해 사회성을 강화할 수 있으며 소통능력을 강화해 사회적 조망수용단계에 이를 수 있다는 의견으로 모아졌다. 이를 위해 UDL에 대한 교사 및 교육계의 관심이 지속되도록 교과서 내 UD교육에 대한 내용의 질적 개선과 비중의 확대 및 사회적 인식개선을 위한 총체적인 노력이 필요할 것이다. UDL은 학생들의 조망수용능력을 길러주며 주도적인 사람으로 이끌어 2022 개정 교육과정이 지향하는 바와 같이 포용성과 창의성을 갖춘 주도적인 인재로 양성할 수 있을 것이다.

This study aims to analyze the content related to universal design in the revised 2015 high school art textbooks, in anticipation of the implementation of the revised 2022 curriculum. In addition, interviews will be conducted with high school art teachers who have experience in universal design education or have a background in design. Universal Design Education is closely related to the development of social perspective-taking abilities, which involve moving away from self-centered thinking and considering others and the world. As for the specific research methods, the researcher conducted a comprehensive analysis of 10 types of 2015 revised high school art textbooks through structural analysis and content analysis based on detailed analysis criteria. In addition, the researcher conducted in-depth interviews with current art teachers to gather their experiences and opinions related to Universal Design Education. Therefore, it is necessary to clearly present the concept of universal design in textbooks and enhance its connection to student activities. According to the interviews with teachers, those with more than five years of experience mentioned reasons such as insufficient curriculum time, considering student interest, and prioritizing other topics based on importance, which contribute to the lack of universal design education in practice. On the other hand, the interviews confirmed the need in the field to foster students' social perspective-taking ability through universal design education and expect holistic student development. Conducting lessons on the topic of universal design can enhance social skills and strengthen communication abilities, thereby fostering social perspective-taking. To achieve this, it is essential to make concerted efforts to sustain the interest of teachers and the education community in UDL. This includes qualitatively improving the content of universal design education in textbooks, increasing its importance, and making comprehensive efforts to enhance social awareness.
