The Meeting of Aesthetics and Metaphoristic Thinking

심미감이란 무엇인가? 사물의 아름다움을 살펴 찾고 분별하는 느낌과 생각, 능력은 어떻게 확장될 수 있을까? 그러한 확장의 한 대안으로 메타포에 주목하였다. 우리는 삶의 다양한 현상과 장면을 만나면서 의미 확장과 해석을 통하여 메타포(metaphor)적 사고에 다가간다. 메타포적 사고를 통한 지식이나 경험에 대한 의미 해석이나 확장은 심미감, 아름다움을 깊이 들여다보는 지혜와 안목, 위안과 격려, 다양성을 가져다줌으로써 결국 우리 삶을 풍요롭게 한다. 메타포는 나를 지금 여기에서 다른 곳으로 데려가 또 다른 세계를 재구성하여 타인과 만나게 하고 깨어있게 함으로써 탄력성을 갖게 하고 지각, 교감, 몰입하는 힘을 만들어 준다. 상징은 비유나 은유의 씨앗이 되어 내가 가진 지식을 통찰하게 하고 결국 확장된 메시지를 깨닫게 하는 메타포의 길로 이끈다. 메타포적 사고에 접근하는 매개(mediation)나 단서의 역할을 지식, 언어, 표현, 기록으로 구분하여 살펴보고 긍정적 해석과 탐구에 대하여 논하였다.

What is aesthetic sense? How can the feeling, thoughts, and ability to examine and discern the beauty of an object expand? The paper focused on the metaphor as an alternative to such an expansion. As we meet various phenomena and scenes in life, we approach metaphorical thinking through expansion and interpretation of meaning. Interpretation or expansion of meaning of knowledge or experiences through metaphorical thinking ultimately enriches our lives by providing a sense of aesthetics, wisdom and insight to look deeply into beauty, comfort, encouragement, and diversity. The Metaphor takes me from here and now to another place, reconstructs another world, allows me to meet others, keeps me awake, gives me resilience, and creates the power of perception, sympathy, and immersion. Symbols become the seeds of analogies or metaphors, which allow me to gain insight into my knowledge and ultimately lead me to the path of metaphors that help me realize the expanded message. As a mediation or clue role of metaphorical thinking, the paper examined by dividing it into knowledge, language, expression, and records, and discussed positive interpretation and inquiry.
