초등학교 1학년 문해교육에 대한 유아교육기관 교사의 인식: 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 중심으로

Early Childhood Education Institution Teachers’ Perception of Literacy Education in the First Grade of Elementary School: Focusing on Focus Group Interviews

본 연구의 목적은 유아교육기관 교사를 대상으로 초등학교 1학년 교육과정 속 문해교육에 대한 인식을 살펴보는 것에 있다. 이를 위해 유아교육기관에 재직 중인 교사 4명을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 연구결과, 유아교육기관 교사들은 2022 개정 초등교육과정에 기술되어 있는 성취기준이 유아에게 부담으로 느껴질 것을 우려하였다. 둘째, 2015 개정 초등교육과정에 반영된 국어교과서 내 활동이 1학년 학생의 수준에 적절하게 구성되어 있다고 인식하였다. 셋째, 초등학교 1학년 문해교육에 있어 자신의 생각과 느낌을 표현하는 능력을 중요하게 생각하였다. 넷째, 초등학교 1학년 문해 교육과정이 놀이보다는 활동 중심으로 구성된 것을 우려하였다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구는 유아교육기관 교사가 초등학교 1학년교육과정 내 문해교육을 바르게 이해할 수 있도록 교육과정 및 교과서 활동, 한글책임교육제, 문해 놀이 실제 운영 사례 등의 내용이 포함된 연수의 필요성을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the perception of literacy education in the first grade curriculum at elementary school for early childhood teachers. For this study, focus group interviews were conducted with four early childhood teachers working at kindergarten. This study provides insightful perspectives into the elementary literacy education. First, early childhood teachers were concerned that the achievement standards described in the 2022 revised elementary curriculum would feel burdensome to young children. Second, it was recognized that the activities in the Korean language textbook based on the 2015 revised elementary curriculum were appropriately structured for first-year students to learn Hangeul. Third, in literacy education for the first year of elementary school, the ability to express one’ s thoughts and feelings was considered an important element of literacy. Fourth, they were concerned that the first-year literacy curriculum was organized around activities rather than plays. Based on this, this study suggests the necessity of training that includes curriculum and textbook activities, Korean responsibility education system, and actual operation cases of literacy play, which will allow the teachers at early childhood education institutions properly understand literacy education in the first-year elementary school curriculum.
