교정시설 수형자의 영성과 주관적 행복감과의 관계에서 자기통제력의 매개효과

Spirituality of Inmates in Correctional facilities in relation to Subjective Happiness Mediating effect of Self-control

이 논문은본 연구의 목적은 수형자의 영성과 주관적 행복감 간의 관계에서 자기통제력의 매개효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 경북 북부지역 소재 교정시설에 수용 중인 수형자 400명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 각 측정변인들 간 관련성을 살펴보고, 수형자의 영성이 주관적 행복감에 미치는 영향에서 자기통제력의 매개효과를 알아보기 위하여 Baron & Kenny(1986)가 제안한 3단계 위계적 회귀분석을 실시 후 Sobel test를 실시하였으며, 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수형자의 영성, 자기통제력, 주관적 행복감의 관계를 검증한 결과, 대부분의 요인에서 유의미한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 먼저 영성의 전체값을 중심으로 살펴보면, 영성은 자기통제력, 주관적 행복감과 정적상관을 보였다. 다음으로 영성의 하위요인별로 살펴보면, 종교적 영성은 자기통제력, 주관적 행복감과 정적상관을 보였으며, 실존적 영성 또한 자기통제력, 주관적 행복감과 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 자기통제력은 주관적 행복감과 정적상관을 보였다. 둘째, 영성과 주관적 행복감의 관계에서 자기통제력은 매개효과를 보였으며 영성의 하위요인별로 살펴보면, 종 교적 영성과 주관적 행복감의 관계에서 자기통제력은 부분매개를 하였다. 그리고 실존적 영성과 주관적 행복감의관계에서 자기통제력은 또한 부분매개를 하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 교정시설 수형자의 영성이 자기 통제력을 매개로 주관적 행복감에 미치는 영향에 대한 본 연구의 의의와 한계, 그리고 후속연구를 진행하는데 있어 더욱 의미 있는 연구결과를 얻기 위해 필요한 제언을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of self-control in the relationship between prisoners' spirituality and subjective happiness. For this purpose, I collected data from 400 prisoners housed in a correctional facility in the northern part of Gyeongsangbuk-do. After conducting the three-step hierarchical regression analysis proposed by Baron & Kenny (1986), the Sobel test was performed, and the results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of verifying the relationship between prisoners' spirituality, self-control, and subjective happiness, it was found that there was a significant correlation in most factors. Second, self-control showed a mediating effect in the relationship between spirituality and subjective happiness, and when looking at each subfactor of spirituality, self-control partially mediated the relationship between religious spirituality and subjective happiness. And self-control also partially mediated the relationship between existential spirituality and subjective happiness.
