The Effects of the Artificial Intelligence Education Program Using Novel Engineering on Elementary School Students' Learning Flow and Creative Problem Solving Ability

Purpose - The purpose of this study is to compare and verify the effects of general reading classes, Novel Engineering classes, and an AI education program using Novel Engineering on elementary school students' learning flow and creative problem-solving skills. Method - For this purpose, different programs were applied to three 4th grade elementary school classes, and tests for learning flow and creative problem-solving skills before and after class were conducted and analyzed using a 5-point Likert scale. Results - Learning flow showed significant improvement in the group that applied the Novel Engineering class and the AI education program using Novel Engineering compared to the control group that took general reading classes. And in the areas of understanding and mastery of knowledge and thinking/skills, the creative problem-solving skills of experimental group, which applied the AI education program class using Novel Engineering, significantly improved compared to the control group that applied general reading classes. Conclusion - Elementary school students' learning flow and creative problem-solving skills showed significant improvements in both Novel engineering classes and the AI education program using Novel Engineering, and creative problem-solving skills showed significant improvements in the AI education program using Novel Engineering.
