환경부 선정 유아용 우수환경 그림책의 특성 분석연구

A Study to Analyze the Characteristics of Excellent Environmental Picture Books for Children Selected by the Ministry of Environment

본 연구는 환경부가 선정한 유아용 우수 환경 그림책의 기본 특성과 환경 교육내용을 분석함으로써 환경 그림책이 유아 환경교육의 매개체로서 어떠한 역할과 방향성을 가져야 하는지를 탐구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 2018년 이후 출판된 27권의 환경부 선정 유아용 우수 환경 그림책을 분석대상으로 하여 글과 그림 텍스트를 중심으로 그림책의 기본특성과 환경부가 제시한 국가 수준 환경교육 주제 및 내용을 텍스트 마이닝 키워드 분석과 네트워크 분석을 하였다. 연구결과, 유아용 환경 그림책의 기본특성은 주로 환상그림책에 속하며, 국내 출판과 해외 번역출판의 비중에 큰 차이가 없었다. 또한, 구상적 표현의 그림 유형의 비중이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 유아 환경교육에서 다루는 주제는 ‘최근 환경 현안’ 영역의 비중이 높았으며, ‘환경개념’과 ‘생물종의 다양성’의 비중이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 텍스트 마이닝 분석 결과, ‘인간 활동과 환경과의 관계’, ‘환경문제’, ‘생물종의 감소’를 다룬 내용의 비중이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 유아 환경교육에 있어, 그림책 활용의 방향성을 제시했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study explored the role and direction of environmental picture books as a medium for early childhood environmental education by analyzing the basic characteristics and environmental education contents of excellent environmental picture books for children selected by the Ministry of Environment. To this end, 27 excellent environmental picture books for toddlers selected by the Ministry of Environment published since 2018 were analyzed through text mining keyword analysis and network analysis, focusing on the basic characteristics of the picture books and the national-level environmental education topics and contents proposed by the Ministry of Environment. The results showed that the basic characteristics of environmental picture books for toddlers are mainly fantasy picture books, and there is no significant difference in the proportion of domestic and foreign translations. In addition, the proportion of figurative illustration types is high. In terms of the topics covered in early childhood environmental education, the proportion of "recent environmental issues" was high, and the proportion of "environmental concepts" and "biodiversity" was high. The text mining analysis showed that the content of "Relationship between human activities and the environment", "Environmental problems", and "Decline of biodiversity" were high. This study is significant in that it provides a direction for the use of picture books in early childhood environmental education.
