은유분석(Metaphor Analysis)을 통해 본 바깥놀이에 대한 영아교사의 인식

Infant Teachers’ Perceptions of Outdoor Play Seen Through Metaphor Analysis

본 연구는 은유분석을 통해 본 바깥놀이에 대한 영아교사의 인식을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 G도와 D시 지역에 소재한 어린이집에 근무하는 영아교사 129명을 대상으로 은유 표현과 표현의 이유를 묻는 질문지를 통해 응답을 수집하여 범주화하였고, 범주에 따른 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였다. 연구결과, 영아교사들은 은유표현을 통해 바깥놀이를 다음과 같이 인식하고 있었다. 첫째, 영아교사들이 인식한 바깥놀이는 영아들에게 배움의 장으로, 놀이 그 자체이며, 삶을 경험하는 공간이다. 둘째, 바깥놀이는 영아들에게 내적 욕구를 충족하고, 건강과 활력을 재충전할 수 있는 행복한 시간이다. 셋째, 모험과 여정의 바깥놀이는 영아의 호기심 충족과 창의성 발현에 도움을 주며, 계절의 변화와 다양한 동식물 등 실내와는 다른 경험을 하게 해준다. 또한, 바깥놀이에서 영아교사의 역할이 안전관리자와 관찰자의 역할에서 영아가 생활 속에서 자연스럽게 동식물, 생명, 자연환경에 관심을 가지게 하는 놀이 지원자로서의 역할로 변화하는 것도 주목할 만하다. 이는 영아교사들이 영아들의 배움과 성장을 경험하는 바깥놀이의 공간적 특성과 행복과 즐거움의 내적인 동기를 실현하는 시간으로의 특별함, 모험과 도전을 경험하는 놀이의 과정이 나타나는 바깥놀이에서의 놀이 가치에 의미를 두고 있음을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to reveal infant childhood teachers" perceptions of outdoor play through metaphor analysis. To this end, responses were collected and categorized through a questionnaire asking about metaphorical expressions and reasons for expressions from 129 infant teachers working at daycare centers located in province G and city D, and the frequencies and percentages according to category were calculated. As a result of this study, infant teachers recognized outdoor play through metaphorical expressions as follows. First, outdoor play, as recognized by early childhood teachers, is a place for learning, play itself, and a space to experience life for infants. Second, outdoor play is a happy time for infants to satisfy their internal needs and recharge their health and vitality. Third, outdoor play of adventure and journey helps infants satisfy their curiosity and express their creativity, and enables them to experience things different from indoors, such as seasonal changes and various animals and plants. In addition, it is noteworthy that the role of the infant teacher in outdoor play is changing from that of a safety manager and observer to the role of a play supporter who helps infants naturally become interested in plants, animals, life, and the natural environment in their daily lives. This refers to the spatial characteristics of outdoor play where infant teachers experience children"s learning and growth, the special nature of the time to realize the internal motivation of happiness and joy, and the play in outdoor play where the process of play through experiencing adventure and challenge is revealed. It suggests that meaning is attached to value.
