본 연구의 목적은 아동·청소년기의 복합외상 경험이 성인의 관계중독에 미치는 영향에서 내면화된 수치심과 자기침묵의 순차적 이중매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 모형을 검증하기 위하여 전국의 성인 350명을 대상으로 온라인 설문을 실시하였고, 외상 경험, 관계중독, 내면화된 수치심, 자기침묵 척도를 사용하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS 26.0과 Hayes(2013)의 Process Macro를 활용하여 상관분석, 경로분석을 통한 매개효과와 순차적 이중매개효과 검증을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 복합외상, 내면화된 수치심, 자기침묵, 관계중독 사이에 통계적으로 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 내면화된 수치심과 자기침묵의 매개효과를 확인한 결과, 복합외상이 관계중독에 이르는 과정에서 내면화된 수치심과 자기침묵이 각각 부분 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 순차적 이중매개효과를 확인한 결과, 복합외상이 관계중독에 이르는 과정에서 내면화된 수치심과 자기침묵이 순차적으로 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타냈다. 본 연구는 복합외상이 관계중독으로 이어지는 경로에서 내면화된 수치심, 자기침묵이 어떠한 역할을 하는지를 살펴보았다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 관계중독 내담자의 상담 및 치료에 임상적 시사점을 제시할 수 있다. 위와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 의의 및 향후 연구 방향에 대해 제언하였다.
This study aimed to examine the effect of complex trauma on the symptoms of relationship addiction in adults. In addition, this study tried to investigate whether internalized shame and self-silencing have a double mediating effect on the relationship between complex trauma and relationship addiction. To this end, we analyzed data from 350 adults using the scales measuring complex trauma, relationship addiction, internalized shame and self-silencing. As a result, first, there was a positive correlation between complex trauma, relationship addiction, internalized shame and self-silencing. Second, it was confirmed that internalized shame and self-silencing each had a mediating effect between complex trauma and relationship addiction. Third, because of confirming the serial double mediation effect, it was shown that internalized shame and self-silencing sequentially had a mediating effect in the process of complex trauma leading to relationship addiction. The implications and limitations of these results were discussed.
