가족임파워먼트가 성인발달장애인의 자립생활에 미치는 영향: 장애인의 긍정적 기여에 대한 인식의 매개효과를 중심으로

The Effect of Family Empowerment on the Self-Reliance of Adults with Developmental Disabilities: Focusing on the Mediating Effects of Positive Contributions of Persons with Disabilities

본 연구는 장애인가족의 임파워먼트가 성인발달장애인의 자립생활에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 이들 관계에서 장애인의 긍정적 기여에 대한 인식의 매개효과를 검증하고자 한다. 이를 위해 대구광역시에 거주하고 있는 성일발달장애인 가족 201명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과 장애인가족의 가족임파워먼트는 성인발달장애인 자립생활에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 가족체계와 지역사회체계로부터 가족임파워먼트를 획득할수록 장애 자녀의 자립생활정도가 높아지는 것을 보여준다. 이와 함께, 장애인가족의 가족임파워먼트와 성인발달장애인의 자립생활 간의 관계에서 장애인의 긍정적 기여에 대한 인식은 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 성인발달장애인의 자립생활을 향상하기 위해서는 장애인 당사자에 대한 자립생활 지원과 함께 가족임파워먼트 수준을 높이고, 장애인에 대한 긍정적 기여에 대한 인식을 강화할 필요가 있음을 확인하였다는 점에서 연구의 함의를 찾을 수 있다.

This study analyzes the impact of the empowerment of disabled families on the independent lives of adults with developmental disabilities and verifies the mediating effect of the positive contributions of disabled people in these relationships. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 201 family members of people with developmental disabilities living in Daegu Metropolitan City and the results were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, family empowerment of disabled families was found to have a positive impact on the independent lives of adults with developmental disabilities. This shows that the degree of independent living of disabled children increases as family empowerment is obtained from the family system and community system. In addition, the positive contribution of disabled people was found to have a mediating effect in the relationship between family empowerment of disabled families and independent living of adults with developmental disabilities. These research results confirm that in order to improve the independent living of adults with developmental disabilities, it is necessary to increase the level of family empowerment along with supporting independent living for the disabled, and to strengthen awareness of the positive contribution to the disabled. Implications can be found.
