의료진과의 커뮤니케이션이 장애인 삶의 만족에 미치는 영향: 가족건강성의 매개효과

The Effect of Communication with Healthcare Professionals on the Life Satisfaction of Individuals with Disabilities: Focused on the Mediating Effect of Family Strength

본 연구는 의료진과의 커뮤니케이션과 장애인의 삶의 만족의 관계를 살펴보고, 이러한 관계에서 가족건강성의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국장애인개발원의 장애인 삶 패널조사 3차 자료(2020년)를 활용하였으며, 연구 대상으로 만 19세 이상인 장애인 3,937명을 선정하였다. 분석 방법으로는 프로세스 매크로를 활용하여 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 의료진과의 커뮤니케이션이 높을수록 장애인의 삶의 만족에 정(+)적으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 의료진과의 커뮤니케이션이 높을수록 가족건강성에 정(+)적으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 의료진과의 커뮤니케이션과 장애인 삶의 만족의 관계에서 가족건강성은 완전 매개효과를 보였다. 연구 결과 및 논의를 바탕으로 의료 결정 과정에서 장애인과 가족의 참여를 보장하고 지원하는 서비스 마련의 필요성과 방안을 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between communication with healthcare professionals and life satisfaction among individuals with disabilities, and to verify the mediating effect of family strength in this relationship. For this purpose, data from the 3rd wave (2020) Disability and Life Dynamics Panel conducted by the Korea Disabled People’s Development Institute in 2020 were utilized, with a sample of 3,937 individuals with disabilities aged 19 and above. The analysis employed Process Macro to verify the mediating effects. The main findings of the study are as follows. Firstly, higher communication with healthcare professionals had a significant positive effect on life satisfaction. Secondly, increased communication with healthcare professionals also had a significant positive effect on family strength. Thirdly, family strength demonstrated a complete mediating effect in the relationship between communication with healthcare professionals and life satisfaction. Based on the research results and discussions, there is a suggested need for services that guarantee and support the participation of disabled individuals and their families in the medical decision-making process.
