Purpose: This study assessed the experiences of employment maintenance among people with mental health disorders. Methods: van Manen's hermeneutic phenomenological method was used to analyze the qualitative data. The data were collected from 11 participants with mental health disorders who had received employment maintenance for six months or longer and had not stopped work for more than two weeks from March 11 to August 30, 2019. Results: Four essential themes emerged: “awakened the entire body,” “hope grows in the dark,” “finding my position,” and “being together with the people in the world.” Conclusion: The experience of employment maintenance among people with mental health dis-orders was a process of recovery and growth that revealed their place and existence in the world.
