Homo ludens and Homo narrans: Rereading Nietzsche's ‘Three Transformations’

본 논문의 목표는 니체의 차라투스트라는 이렇게 말했다󰡕에 등장하는 ｢세 가지 변화｣를 놀이와 내러티브의 관점에서 해석하는 것이다. 놀이 철학에서 니체가 차지하는 위치는 매우 중요하다. 현대의 놀이에 대한 철학적 이해는 니체로부터 출발했다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 니체의 놀이철학이 압축적이고 상징적으로 드러난 곳이 ｢세 가지 변화｣이다. 우리는 놀이와 내러티브가 가진 유사성에 주목하고 ｢세 가지 변화｣를 내러티브의 관점에서도 해석가능하다고 본다.

The goal of this paper is to interpret ‘Three Transformations’ of Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra from the perspective of play and narrative. Nietzsche's place in the philosophy of play is very important. It is not an exaggeration to say that current philosophical understandings of play began with Nietzsche. ‘Three Transformations’ is where Nietzsche’s philosophy of play is expressed in a condensed and symbolic way. We pay attention to the similarities between play and narrative and believe that ‘Three Transformations’ can be interpreted from the perspective of narrative as well.
