신라 토우에서 나타난 애도의 상징적 이미지와 모래놀이상담의 적용에 대한 연구

A Study on the Symbolic Image of Mourning in Silla Clay Figurines and the Application of Sandplay Counseling

본 연구는 신라 토우에서 나타나는 애도와 장송의례, 애도에 따른 상징적 이미지를 탐구하고자 하였다. 이 를 위해 토우와 관련된 연구 문헌, 작품들을 다각적으로 해석 및 분석하였다. 또한 토우의 애도 상징을 분 류 및 정의하였으며, 신라 토우에서 나타나는 애도 상징과 이미지, 투사의 의미를 고찰하여 그 원형을 이 해하여 모래놀이상담 과정에 적용하고자 하였다. 더 나아가 토우에서 나타난 애도의 상징과 모래놀이상담 의 연결성을 파악하고자 과거부터 현대까지 이어져 오는 애도의 상징과 그 의미를 탐색하였다. 그 결과 토우는 개인을 투사하여 내면의 정서와 무의식 속 소망을 표현하는 매개체이자, 고인을 떠나보내는 애도 의 과정인 장송의례의 피규어로써 사용이 되었음을 발견할 수 있었다. 또한 배, 말, 새, 신발, 집, 등불 토 우에서 나타난 상징들은 원형과 의미에 따라 분류되었으며, 상징물 간의 유사성이 나타났다. 더 나아가 본 연구를 통해 모래놀이상담과 토우에서 나타난 애도 상징의 연결점을 고찰하고, 모래놀이상담에서 애도를 다루기 위한 창조적인 과정으로서의 임상적 활용 가능성을 살펴보았다는 것에 의의가 있다.

This study aimed to explore the mourning and the symbolic images of mourning in Silla clay figurines. For this study, research, literature, and works related to clay figurines were interpreted and analyzed from various angles. Also, mourning symbols of clay figurines were classified and defined, and the archetype was intended to be understood and applied to sandplay counseling by considering the mourning symbols, images, and the meaning of projection in Silla clay figurines. Furthermore, it was explored the possibility of the application and connection with the clay figurines’s mourning symbol and Sandplay counseling. Also, the symbols of mourning from the past to the present and its meaning were explored. As a result, It was discovered that clay figurines was used as a figure in the process of projecting an individual to express self inner emotion and unconscious wish, and sending mourning away as a funeral ritual. Moreover, symbols such as boat, horse, bird, shoes, house, and lantern appearing in clay figurines were classified and identified based on their archetype and meanings, revealing similarities. Furthermore, the significance of this study is that it examined the connection between sandplay counseling and the mourning symbols shown in clay figurines, and examined the possibility of clinical use as a creative process for dealing with grief in sandplay counseling.
