예비유아교사를 위한 STEAM 기반 지속가능발전교육 프로그램 개발과 적용

Development and application of STEAM-based Education for Sustainable Development Program for Pre-Service Early Childhood Teachers

연구 목적: 본 연구의 목적은 예비유아교사의 지속가능발전교육 역량 향상을 위한 STEAM 기반 지속가능 발전교육 프로그램을 개발하여 프로그램 효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 연구 방법: 프로그램 개발을 위해 절차에 따라 문헌 분석, 요구도 조사, 시안 구성, 1차 전문가 협의회, 예비 연구, 2차 전문가 협의회를 거쳐 최종 프로그램을 구성하였다. 최종 프로그램의 효과를 살펴보기 위하여 B 시에 소재한 B 대학의 예비유아교사 24명을 대상으로 2023년 3월 8일부터 6월 14일까지 총 24차시 적용하였다. 연구 결과: 예비유아교사의 지속가능발전교육 역량 향상을 위한 STEAM 기반 지속가능발전교육 프로그램은 지속가능발전목표에 기반하여 사회․경제․환경적 측면이 통합되어 이루어질 수 있는 교육내용, 교수․학습 방법, 평가 등으로 구성되었다. 또한 본 프로그램을 통해 예비유아교사의 지속가능발전교육 역량과 융합인재소양이 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 본 연구는 예비유아교사를 위한 STEAM 기반 지속가능발전교육 프로그램이 예비유아교사의 지속가능발전교육 역량과 융합인재소양의 향상에 효과적임을 보여줌으로써, 예비유아교사를 위한 지속가능발전교육의 새로운 모델을 제시하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

Objective: This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the program by developing a STEAM-based Education for Sustainable Development program to improve the capacity of pre-service early childhood teachers for education for sustainable development. Methods: The final program was formed through literature analysis, demand survey, draft composition, first expert council, preliminary research, and second expert council according to the procedure to develop the program. To examine the effectiveness of the final program, 24 pre-service early childhood teachers at B University located in B city were recruited from March 8 to June 14, 2023. Results: The STEAM-based sustainable development education program for improving the educational capabilities of pre-service early childhood teachers comprises educational content, teaching and learning methods, and evaluation that can be achieved by integrating social, economic, and environmental aspects based on the goal of sustainable development. In addition, this program improved, pre-service early childhood teachers' ESD competencies and STEAM literacy. Conclusions: This study is meaningful in presenting a new model of education by demonstrating that STEAM-based Education for Sustainable Development programs for pre-service early childhood teachers are effective in improving the ESD competencies and STEAM literacy of pre-service early childhood teachers.
