다문화가정 자녀가 지각한 부모와의 관계만족도가 자아존중감에 미치는 영향: 다문화 배경에 대한 자긍심의 매개효과

The Effects of Parent-Child Relationship Satisfaction on Self-esteem in Children from Multicultural Families: the Mediating Effect of Pride for Multicultural Background

본 연구는 다문화가정 자녀가 지각한 부모와의 관계만족도와 자아존중감과의 관계에서 다문화 배경에 대한 자긍심의 매개효과를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 통해서 다문화가정 자녀들의 적응적인 결과를 이끄는 다문화 배경에 대한 자긍심을 함양하도록 돕는 효과적인 개입 방안에 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구문제를 검증하기 위해 「2021년 전국다문화가족 실태조사」자료 중에서 만 9세에서만 11세 자녀들이 응답한 내용을 활용하여 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석에는 SPSS 27.0 프로그램이 활용되었다. 그 결과는 첫째, 다문화가정 자녀가 지각한 부모와의 관계만족도, 다문화 배경에 대한 자긍심, 자아존중감은 각각 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계가 있었다. 둘째, 다문화가정 자녀가 지각한 부모와의 관계만족도와 자아존중감의 관계에서 다문화 배경에 대한 자긍심은 유의미한 부분매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 다문화 배경에 대한 자긍심은 다문화가정 자녀의 적응적인 결과를 촉진하는 자원으로 활용 가능함을 확인하였다. 특히 부모와 친밀한 유대관계를 형성하고, 이에 대해서 만족한 자녀일수록 이러한 자원을 효과적으로 활용하여 자신에 대한 긍정적 태도를 형성할 수 있음을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to identify the mediation effect of pride for multicultural background between parent-child relationship satisfaction and self-esteem in children from multicultural families. Further more, it aims to provide basic information for effective intervention to improve pride for multicultural background which will lead to successful adaptation for children from multicultural families. Data of 9-year-old to 11-year-old from Korean Multi-culture Family Panel Survey 2021 has been used. To analyze the data, multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS 27.0. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, there were meaningful associations among parent-child relationship satisfaction, self-esteem and pride for multicultural background. Second, pride for multicultural background partially mediated the relationship between parent-child relationship satisfaction and self-esteem. The current result suggest that, pride of multi-culture can be used as a resource to help children from multicultural families with adaptation. It would be more effective especially for those who are more closely related to their parents and feel more satisfied with their relationship with parents.
