The The purpose of this study was to examine research trends in child development during the COVID-19 pandemic from a life course perspective by synthesizing the short-term results and mapping the research landscape from a long-term perspective. General trends were analyzed using papers published between January 2020 and March 2023, as indexed by the National Research Foundation of Korea. Trends were then presented by subgroup, such as age and minority groups This study predominantly focused on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on children's development and daily lives, indicating a common overarching theme. This may mean that previous study topics were limited, and that future studies need to be conducted from various perspectives. There were few studies on infants, toddlers, and minority groups. As the impact of the pandemic is expected to continue for a long time, longitudinal studies that track individuals' developmental trajectories are needed. This study is meaningful in that it used the life course perspective as a research framework and included an analysis of each subgroup, as well as an examination of the microsystem environment surrounding each child. The current findings provide valuable insights into the pandemic’s varying effects across the life course, suggesting important future research directions.
