관찰에 대한 그림그리기를 통해 나타난 예비유아교사의 인식 분석

Analysis of prospective early childhood teachers' perceptions revealed through drawing from observations

본 연구는 예비유아교사가 관찰에 관해 떠오르는 것을 그린 그림을 분석함으로써, 그들이 형성하고 있는 관련 인식을 파악하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 H대학교 유아교육과 3학년에 재학 중인 예비유아교사 22명이 2023년 9월 14일부터 9월 21일까지 연구에 참여하였다. 그림을 그리고 난 후에 자신의 그림을 소개하고 질의응답으로 이어진 1차 면담, 서로의 그림을 감상하며 공유 및 비교하는 2차 면담을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 예비유아교사가 그린 관찰에 대한 그림에는 첫째, ‘관찰의 방향성에 대한 인식’이 나타났다. 이들은 관찰을 유아 이해의 수단이 되는 것, 과정이 중심이 되는 것, 노력이 동반되어야 하는 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, ‘관찰자로서 교사의 역할에 대한 인식’이 나타났다. 이들은 교사가 관찰을 수행할 때 애정의 시선을 보내고, 늘 자리를 지키며, 이해하게 된 것을 실천으로 옮기는 역할을 한다고 인식하고 있었다. 이러한 연구결과에 기반하여, 예비유아교사가 관찰의 가치를 실현할 수 있도록 지원하는 교원양성과정이 시행되기를 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to apprehend the relevant perception of prospective early childhood teachers by analyzing the drawings of prospective early childhood teachers from observation. To this end, 22 prospective early childhood teachers enrolled in the 3rd grade of the Department of Early Childhood Education at H University participated in the study from September 14 to 21, 2023. After drawing, the first interview consisted of introducing one's drawing and answering questions, and the second interview involved appreciating, sharing, and comparing each other's drawings. The results are as follows. In the drawing from observation undertaken by prospective early childhood teachers, firstly, ‘awareness of the direction of observation' appeared. The participants recognized observations as a means of understanding young children, imposing the process at the center, and accompanying an effort must be accomplished. Secondly, ‘awareness of the role of teachers as observers' appeared. They acknowledged that teachers play a role in sending affectionate attention, always keeping their positions, and putting what they have come to understand into practice when performing the observation. Based on these research results, it is expected that a teacher training course will be implemented to support prospective early childhood teachers to realize the value of observation.
