어머니-유아 문해상호작용과 유아의 비판적 사고 간의 관계에서 유아 읽기흥미와 공감능력의 순차 매개효과

The effect of mother-child literacy interaction on critical thinking: Sequential mediation on children’s reading interest and empathy ability

본 연구는 어머니와 유아의 문해상호작용이 유아의 비판적 사고력에 미치는 영향을 유아의 읽기흥미와 공감능력의 순차적 매개효과를 통해 분석하고자 하였다. 어머니와 유아의 문해상호작용과 비판적 사고력 간의 관계에서 유아의 읽기흥미와 공감능력의 순차 매개효과를 분석하고자 했다. 연구대상은 대전지역 유치원 만 5세 유아 258명과 그들의 어머니를 대상으로 했다. 본 연구결과는 첫째, 어머니-유아 문해상호작용, 유아읽기흥미, 공감능력 그리고 비판적 사고력 간에는 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머-유아문해상호작용은 유아의 읽기흥미와 공감능력을 통해 비판적 사고력에 영향을 끼치며, 순차적 매개효과를 보였다. 이는 어머니와 유아간의 문해상호작용과 유아의 읽기흥미와 공감능력은 비판적 사고력을 높이기 위한 주요한 요인임을 확인하였고, 특히 어머니-유아 문해상호작용은 유아의 읽기흥미와 공감능력을 높여 비판적 사고력에 영향을 미친다는 근거를 제시했다. 따라서 본 연구는 유아의 비판적 사고력 향상을 위해 어머니의 적극적인 문해상호작용이 유아의 읽기흥미와 공감능력을 향상시키고, 이를 통해 비판적 사고력을 향상시킬 수 있음을 시사한다.

This study examines the relationship of mother-child literacy interaction and children’s critical thinking through the sequentially mediating effect of children’s reading interest and empathy ability. Using the questionnaire survey method, 158 5-year-old children and 150 teachers working at kindergarten in Daejeon Province participated for the study. The children’s reading interest and empathy ability sequentially mediated the relationship between mother-child literacy interaction and children’s critical thinking. Specifically, it was found that the mother-child literacy interaction indirectly affects children’s critical thinking through the sequentially mediating effect of children’s reading interest and empathy ability. The results of this study provide the basic data to explore ways to improve the children’s critical thinking.
