미래 핵심역량과 학교 환경 개선 방안에 관한 학교 구성원의 조사 연구: A 중학교 사례를 중심으로

A Study of School Members’ Perceptions on Core Competencies and School Environment Improvement Plans: Focusing on the Case of A Middle School

본 연구의 목적은 서울의 한 구도심에 위치한 A 중학교에서 학교 구성원들이 바라는 미래 교육의 모습과 학교 환경을 종합적으로 파악하는 데 있다. 연구방법: 이를 위해 A중학교 학생, 교사, 학부모를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여, 미래 사회에서 요구되는 핵심역량과 학교 환경 개선에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 수집된 자료는 t-검정, Borich 요구도 분석, The Locus for Focus 모델을 활용하여 집단 간 차이를 비교 분석하였다. 연구결과: 분석 결과, 학생, 교사, 학부모 간에 핵심역량의 중요성에 대한 인식 차이가 존재함을 보여주었다. 교사들은 학생이나 학부모보다 핵심역량의 중요성을 더 높게 평가했으며, 학생들은 학년이 올라갈수록 핵심역량의 중요성을 낮게 평가하는 경향을 보였다. 또한, 학교 구성원들은 자기관리 역량과 지식정보 처리 역량을 중요하게 여기는 반면, 심미적 감성 역량에 대해서는 상대적으로 덜 중요하게 인식하였다. 한편, 학교 환경 개선의 필요성에 대해서는 모든 구성원이 인지하고 있었으나, 구체적인 개선 요소의 중요성과 현재 수준에 대한 인식에는 차이가 있었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 미래 사회에 적합한 교육 환경을 조성하기 위해서는 학생들의 인지적, 정서적, 사회적 발달을 모두 고려한 공간 조성이 필요함을 시사한다. 특히, 유연하고 다양한 공간의 필요성, 심미적 감성 역량의 중요성 인식 증진, 공동체 역량 강화를 위한 교육 방안 등이 종합적으로 논의되어야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to comprehensively understand the future education and school environment of school members’ perception at A-Middle School, located in an old urban area in Seoul. Method: A survey was conducted among the students, teachers, and parents of A Middle School to investigate the core competencies required in the future society and their perceptions on improving the school environment. The collected data were compared and analyzed for differences between groups using t-test, Borich needs analysis, and the Locus for Focus model. Results: The analysis showed that there were differences in perceptions of the importance of the core competencies among students, teachers, and parents. Teachers rated the importance of the core competencies higher than students and parents. Students tended to rate the importance of the core competencies lower as they progressed through the grades. In addition, school members valued self-management and knowledge-information processing competency, while aesthetic sensitivity competency was perceived as less important. On the other hand, all members recognized the need to improve the school environment, but there were differences in their perceptions of the importance of specific improvement elements and the current state of the school environment. Conclusion: This study suggests that to create an educational environment suitable for the future society, it is necessary to create spaces that take into account the cognitive, emotional, and social development of students. In particular, there should be comprehensive discussions on the need for flexible and diverse spaces, increased awareness of the importance of aesthetic sensitivity competency, and educational methods to strengthen community competence.
