The purpose of this study is to understand the research trends of multicultural education in Korea and to suggest implications for future domestic multicultural education research. To this end, the Korean abst ract of 315 papers contained from 2008 to June 2023 in 『MES』, a representative academic journal of multicultural education in Korea, was analyzed. The main research results are as follows. Fi rst, the studies included in 『MES』mainly focused on research topics related to 'multicultural education', and the quantitative research method was high. Second, as a result of analyzing the main keywords by period, various keywords appeared in the period of settlement compared to the period of introduction and expansion. Third, as a result of analyzing the change in the proportion of major topics by period, many studies related to 'multicultural theory and policy' appeared in the introductory period, but the proportion decreased as the period of settlement, and the proportion of studies related to 'multicultural education' and 'children of multicultural families' i ncreased. Based on the above research results, it was suggested that the necessity of increasing research related to migrants in the future and research trends in multicultural education from various methodologies and perspectives are needed.
