UCC를 활용한 기후변화 교육프로그램이 초등학생의 기후소양과 자기효능감에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Climate Change Education Program Using User Created Contents on Climate Literacy and Self-Efficacy of Elementary School Students

본 연구에서는 UCC를 활용한 기후 변화 교육 프로그램을 개발하고 이를 초등학생에게 적용하여 기후소양과 자기효능감에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 초등학교 6학년 학생 23명을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였으며, 기후소양과 자기효능감에 관한 사전-사후 검사 결과를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, UCC를 활용한 기후 변화 교육 프로그램은 초등학생의 기후소양에 긍정적인 영향을 끼쳤다. 프로그램 적용 후 학생들의 기후소양은 향상되었고, 인지적, 정의적, 실천적 영역의 전 영역에서 유의미한 변화가 나타났다. 둘째, UCC를 활용한 기후 변화교육 프로그램은 초등학생의 자기효능감에 긍정적인 영향을 끼쳤다. 특히, 자기조절 효능감 영역에서 긍정적인 변화가 있었다. 디지털에 익숙하고, 자신이 콘텐츠를 만들어내는 ‘디지털 네이티브’ 특성을 가지고 있는 초등학생들에게 UCC를 활용한 기후 변화 교육 프로그램은 학생들로 하여금 자료를 제작하고, 발표하고, 관람하는 전 과정에 학습주체로 참여시켜 능동적인 학습을 이끌어냈다. 위와 같이 UCC를 활용한 기후 변화 교육 프로그램은 초등학생의 기후소양과 자기효능감 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 준 것으로 판단된다.

This study developed a climate change educational program using user-createdcontent(UCC) and applied it to elementary school students to determine the impact of climate literacy and self-efficacy. This study was conducted on 23 sixth-grade elementary school students, and the pre- and post-test results on climate literacy and self-efficacy were analyzed. The study results are as follows. First, the climate change educational program using UCC positively affected the climate literacy of elementary school students. After applying the program, students’ climate literacy improved, and all areas of cognitive, affective, and practical areas significantly changed. Second, the climate change educational program using UCC positively affected elementary school students’ self-efficacy. Specifically, a positive change was observed in the area of self-regulation efficacy. For elementary school students who are familiar with digital devices and have the “digital native” nature of creating content, the climate change educational program using UCC have led them to actively learn by participating in the entire process of producing, presenting, and viewing materials. As mentioned previously, the climate change educational program using UCC positively affected the improvement of climate literacy and self-efficacy of elementary school students.
