선교사 전문상담 필요 요구에 대한 근거이론 접근

Qualitative Research on the Professional Ccounseling Needs of Missionaries : A Grounded Theory Approach

본 연구는 선교사들의 상담 요구를 이해하고 이에 대한 이론적 기반을 구축하기 위해 진행되었다. 선교사들의 상담 요구를 조사하기 위해 16명의 참여자를 대상으로 인터뷰를 실시하고 근거 이론 접근을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 선교사 전문적 상담을 요구하는 직접적인 인과적 조건으로 위기상황과 정서문제, 발달 단계 과업을 포함한 가족이슈로 나타났으며, 중심현상으로는 ‘차별화’로 나타났다. 이러한 현상을 증진시키는 매개로서의 중재적 조건으로 선교사 전문 상담특성과 일반 전문상담 전문가 특성으로 변별하였다. 작용-상호작용에서 전문 상담자의 작용과 선교사의 반응이 적극적으로 반응하는 접근을 발견하였다. 결과로는 선교사 전문상담 추구가 도출되었다. 과정 분석을 통해 드러난 선교사 전문상담 요구에 대한 인식 수준은 의뢰형, 참여형, 추구형 세 가지 유형 수준으로 분석되었다. 연구 결과에 근거하여 선교사 전문 상담 차원을 확장해가고 전문상담에 대한 인식 개선 필요와 선교사 상담 전문가 양성을 위한 구체적인 정책과 실천을 제언하였다.

The study endeavored to comprehend the counseling requisites of missionaries and establish a theoretical framework. Sixteen participants underwent interviews, and data were subjected to Grounded Theory analysis. Findings highlighted crisis situations, emotional challenges, developmental tasks, and familial issues as pivotal factors necessitating professional counseling for missionaries. 'Differentiation' surfaced as the central phenomenon. Distinctions between missionary-specific counseling and general counseling were delineated. Active interaction between counselors and missionaries underscored the imperative for counseling. Counseling needs were categorized into Referral, Participational, and Collaborative-Seeking types. Recommendations encompassed broadening counseling dimensions, ameliorating perceptions, and formulating training policies for missionary counselors.
