장기폭력을 경험한 노년기 여성의 심리적 갈등에 관한 내러티브 연구

A Narrative Study on the Psychological Conflicts of Elderly Women Who Experienced Long-Term Violence

본 연구는 장기폭력을 경험한 노년기 여성들의 심리적 갈등에 대한 내러티브 연구이다. 연구 목적은 이들은 지속되는 폭력에 노출되어 고통을 감내하며 오늘을 살아내고 있는 절절한 이들의 삶에 대한 이해와 관심을 높이고 상담 실천 함의를 통해 노년기 과제인 통합을 이루고자 함이다. 이를 위한 연구문제는 ‘장기 가정폭력 노출 경험을 한 노년기 여성의 심리적 갈등경험의 본질은 무엇인가?’이다. 연구 참여자 선정은 00에 거주하는 노년기 여성 중 20년 이상 장기폭력을 경험한 70대 3명으로 이루어졌다. 심층 면담에서 수집된 정보를 통해 성장기 원가족 내의 폭력 경험 여부를 탐색하였으며, 가부장적 체계에서 경험한 장기적 폭력 고통이 노년기 여성의 삶에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지 내러티브 연구 방법의 절차에 따라 분석하였다. 심층 면담을 통해 심리적 갈등경험을 구체화한 결과 갈등경험의 본질을 한(恨)의 정서로 이해하였으며 핵심 주제는 ‘어린 시절의 그림자’, ‘참담한 폭력의 고통’, ‘수치심과 죄책감’, ‘억울하고 한(恨)스러운 삶’, ‘오늘을 살아내고 미래를 꿈꾸기’로 나타났다.

This narrative research explores the psychological conflicts of elderly women who endured long-term violence. It aims to enhance understanding of their lives and achieve integration in old age through counseling. The research question is: ‘What is the essence of the psychological conflict experience of elderly women exposed to long-term domestic violence?’ Three women in their 70s from 000 participated, each having experienced over 20 years of violence. In-depth interviews examined if they faced violence in their family of origin. Using narrative research methods, the study analyzed how patriarchal suffering and long-term violence impacted their lives. The essence of their conflict was identified as ‘Han’-a deep feeling of sorrow, resentment, and regret. Key themes include ‘The shadow of childhood,’ ‘The pain of devastating violence,’ ‘Shame and guilt,’ ‘A life filled with injustice and Han,’ and ‘Living today and dreaming of the future.’
