차이와 반복의 미술에 대한 사례연구

Case study on the Art of Difference and Repetition

본 연구는 미술가 이계원의 알로트로피즘 연작에 담긴 미술제작의 의도와 실천을 철학자 질 들뢰즈가 사유한 차이와 반복의 철학으로 해석한 사례연구이다. 이는 이계원의 미술작품에 대한 사례가 미술교육에 어떤 함의성을 제공할 수 있는지를 도출하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 사례연구 방법을 채택하였다. 그 결과, 이계원에게 미술제작에 있어 반복은 작품을 만들도록 하는 밑바탕이며, 차이를 생성하는 기제로 작동되었다. 이계원이 제작하는 차이 나는 미술 연작은 바로 반복을 통한 그만의 진정성의 표현인 독특성의 구현인 것이다. 이것은 또한 각기 달라 차이 나는 미술 연작임에도 불구하고 매 순간 일상의 다양한 모습이 단지 하나의 일상으로 차이로서 존재한다는 점에서 같다는 의미인 존재의 일의성에 대한 철학적 사유를 반복하여 수행한 결과이다. 즉, 이계원은 반복의 미술제작을 통해 존재의 일의성을 시각화하여 그만의 독특성과 차이의 성취를 해낸 것이다. 본 연구의 중요성은 차이와 반복으로서 독특성과 존재의 일의성으로 파악된 이계원의 미술을 통해 재현과 동일성에 입각한 현행 학교 미술교육에 함의성을 도출했다는 데에 있다.

This study is a case study that interprets the intention and practice of art production contained in artist Lee, Ke-Won's Allotropism series through the philosophy of difference and repetition thought by philosopher Gilles Deleuze. This is to derive what implications a case on Lee, Ke-Won's artwork can provide to art education. For this purpose, this study adopted a case study method. As a result, for Lee, Ke-Won, repetition in art production is the basis for creating works and operates as a mechanism for creating differences. The series of differentiated art produced by Lee, Ke-Won is the embodiment of singularity, an expression of his own authenticity through repetition. This is also the result of repeatedly conducting philosophical thinking about the univocity of being, which means that despite being a series of different art works, the various aspects of daily life at every moment are the same in that they exist as differences as just one daily life. In other words, Lee, Ke-Won achieved his own singularity and difference by visualizing the univocity of being through repetitive art production. The importance of this study lies in deriving implications for current school art education based on representation and identity through Lee, Ke-Won's art, which is understood as singularity and univocity of being through difference and repetition.
