국내외 사례 분석을 통한 미술 아카이브 교육 프로그램 개발 방향 탐색

Domestic and International Case Study for the Development of Art Archive Education Programs

본 연구는 미술 아카이브에 대한 선행 연구와 국내외 교육 프로그램 사례를 조사한 후 이를 바탕으로 미술 아카이브의 교육적 가치를 도출하고 교육 프로그램의 개발 방향을 제시하고자 수행되었다. 미술 아카이브는 기록물뿐만 아니라 미술 실천과 행위에 이르는 다층적인 의미를 지니고 있어 의의를 지니며 교육 프로그램의 개발과 실행에서도 이러한 미술 아카이브 고유의 특징에 주목하고 반영할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 아카이브의 속성에 따라 진행된 교육 프로그램 중 국내에서는 서울시립미술관, 부산시립미술관, 국립현대미술관, 대림미술관, 국외에서는 미국의 The Museum of Modern Art와 The Andy Warhol Museum, 영국의 TATE, 독일의 Städel Museum, 홍콩의 Asian Art Archive에서 진행된 교육 프로그램을 선정하여 조사하였다. 선행연구와 사례연구를 종합하여 미술 아카이브의 교육적 가치로 정보와 증거의 유지 및 보존으로의 가치, 의미 생성을 통한 스토리텔링으로의 가치, 커뮤니케이션 매개로의 가치, 사회 정의 실현으로의 가치를 도출하고 이러한 가치를 실현할 수 있는 교육 프로그램의 개발 방향을 제안하였다.

This study was conducted to derive the educational value of art archives and suggest ways to develop educational programs through literature review on art archives and analysis of educational program cases. Art archives are distinguished from archives in other fields because they have multi-layered meanings ranging from art practice and behavior as well as management of records. In this study, following museum programs were selected as previous research and case study among the educational programs conducted according to the nature of the art archives; the Museum of Modern Art in the United States, The Andy Warhol Museum in the United States, the TATE in the United Kingdom, the Städel Museum in Germany, and the Asian Art Archive in Hong Kong for international cases and Seoul Museum of Art, Busan Museum of Art, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and Daelim Museum in Korea for domestic cases. By synthesizing literature review and case studies, the educational value of art archives was derived as following; maintenance and preservation of information and evidence, storytelling through meaning creation, mediating the communication, and realization of social justice. Through this analysis, ways to develop education program for art archives that can realize these values were proposed by dividing it into content and method.
