한국수어교육능력시험의 전문용어 수어표현의 적절성 연구

A Study on the Appropriateness of Sign Language Expressions for Technical Terms in the Korean Sign Language Teaching Ability Test

이 연구는 전문용어의 수어표현에 대한 적절성을 분석하기 위해 한국수어교육능력시험에 출제된 전문용어를 중심으로 수행되었다. 1회부터 5회까지 치러진 한국수어교육능력시험의 한국수어 교육론, 농문화와 농사회, 한국수어학, 한국수어 실제1, 한국수어 실제2 영역에서 출제된 총 490문항 중 전문용어 47개의 수어표현 74개를 추출하였다. 해당 전문용어의 수어표현에 대한 적절성을 분석하기 위해 현장 전문가 인터뷰를 실시하여 적절도를 백분율로 산출하였다. 아울러 전문용어 수어표현의 적절성 기준을 7가지로 제안하였다. 기준1: 전문용어의 설명을 지양하고 간결성을 유지한다. 기준2: 농사회에서 대중화된 용어를 우선 수용한다. 기준3: 무리한 수어 번역을 지양하고 지문자를 허용한다. 기준4: 지문자와 수어 단어의 혼합 표현을 지양한다. 기준5: 설명과 지문자의 잉여적 병기를 지양한다. 기준6: 여러 의미로 유추되지 않도록 한다. 기준7: 핵심 표현이 포함되도록 한다.

This study was conducted to analyze the appropriateness of the sign language expressions of technical terms, focusing on technical terms that appear in the Korean Sign Language Teaching Ability Test. Of the total 490 questions in the Korean Sign Language education theory, Deaf culture and society, Korean Sign Language linguistics, and Korean Sign Language practice 1 and Korean Sign Language practice 2 sections of the Korean Sign Language Teaching Ability Test administered from the 1st to the 5th times, 74 sign language expressions of 47 technical terms were extracted. In order to analyze the appropriateness of the sign language expressions of the technical terms, interviews with field experts were conducted and the appropriateness was calculated as a percentage. In addition, seven criteria for the appropriateness of the sign language expressions of technical terms were proposed. Criteria 1: Avoid explanation of technical terms and maintain simplicity. Criteria 2: First accept terms that have become popular in the Deaf community. Criteria 3: Avoid unreasonable sign language translation and allow fingerspellings. Criteria 4: Avoid mixed expressions of signs and fingerspellings. Criteria 5: Avoid excessive use of explanations and fingerspellings. Criteria 6: Avoid inference of multiple meanings. Criteria 7: Ensure key expressions are included.
