언어재활사의 의사소통능력과 직무만족도

Relations between Communication Competence and Job-satisfaction of Speech & Language Pathologist

본 연구에서는 언어재활사의 의사소통능력과 직무만족도 수준 및 관계를 알아보고자 하였다, 이를 위해 최소 1년 이상 언어재활사로 근무하고 있는 현직 언어재활사 104명을 대상으로 포괄적 대인 의사소통능력 척도 및 직무만족도 조사를 실시하고 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 언어재활사의 평균 의사소통능력 점수는 3,80점, 직무만족도 점수는 3.83점으로 약간 높은 수준으로 나타났다. 그러나 직무만족도에 있어 언어재활사라는 직업의 가치성이나 공헌도, 동료에 대한 신뢰감 등은 매우 높은 데 비해 보상과 기회 영역에서는 상대적으로 매우 낮은 점수를 보였다. 둘째, 언어재활사 일반변인에 따른 의사소통능력과 직무만족도 점수에는 차이는 거의 없었다. 셋째, 언어재활사의 의사소통능력과 직무만족도 간에서 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 높은 수준의 의사소통능력은 언어재활사 주요 핵심역량으로 직무만족도와 깊은 관계가 있으며, 이를 지원하기 위한 방안이 필요 하다.

In this study, to finds out the communication competency & job satisfaction levels of speech-langage pathologists. And also the correlation between of the two was investigated. For this purpose, Global Interpersonal Communication Scale(GICC) and Job-satisfaction test were conducted on 104 current SLPs with at least one year of clinical experience. The results of analysis based on the collected data are as follows. First, the average communication score of SLPs was 3.80 points. These results are high scores compared to related occupation groups or general office workers, but low scores compared to early childhood teachers. SLPs had high scores in social appropriateness, responsiveness, and concentration, but showed the lowest scores in conversational coherence. The job satisfaction of SLPs was evaluated as high, with an average of 3.83 points. However, There were some differences by the sub-area. The value, importance, and pride of SLPs’s work were very high, but the rewards and opportunities for their work showed very low scores, so It appears that efforts will be needed to resolve these differences. Second, as a result of investigating the differences in communication competency and job satisfaction scores according to general variables of SLPs, significant differences were found in communication competency scores according to level of qualification. However, there was no significant difference in job satisfaction scores according to the variables; Third, it was found that there was a positive correlation between the communication competencies and job satisfaction of SLPs. In conclusion, it was confirmed that the communication competencies and job satisfaction of SLPs were at a high level, and that there was a deep relationship between communication competencies and job satisfaction. Since all work of SLPs iis based on communication competencies, it was determined that continuous support to improve basic and professional communication skills was needed to improve the quality of work of SLPs.
