유아기 교회 신앙교육에 대한 주일학교 유치부 사역자와 기독교인 유아교사의 인식과 경험 및 개선방안

Sunday school ministry workers’ and Christian early childhood teachers’ perceptions, experiences, and suggestions for improvement on early childhood church faith education

본 연구는 주일학교 유치부 사역자와 기독교인 유아교사를 대상으로 유아기 교회 신앙교육에 대한 인식과 경험 및 개선방안을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구참여자는 서울과 경기 지역의 주일학교 유치부 사역자 10명과 기독교인 유아교사 9명이었으며, 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 유아기 교회 신앙교육에 대해 사역자들은 하나님을 예 배하며 관계에 기초해야 하는 것으로, 유아교사들은 유아의 특성을 고려하고 유아의 삶과 연 계되어야 하는 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 사역자들은 유아 발달에 적합한 신앙교육을 하 기 위해 노력하지만 어려움을 경험하고 있었고, 유아교사들은 유아기 신앙교육의 효과를 체감 하지만 교육방식에 있어서 비전공자와 전공자의 차이를 실감하고 있었다. 셋째, 유아기 교회 신앙교육의 개선방안으로, 사역자들과 교사들은 공통적으로 유치부 사역자 및 교사를 위한 유 아 이해 교육 기회 제공, 역량 있는 사역자 배정과 교체시기에 대한 고려를 제안하였다. 이러 한 결과들은 성경에 기초하며 유아의 발달에 적합한 방식으로 이루어지는 유아기 교회 신앙교 육에 대한 중요성 인식과 사역자와 유아교사 간의 협업의 필요성을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions, experiences, and suggestions for improvement on early childhood church faith education among Sunday school ministry workers and Christian early childhood teachers. Ten Sunday school ministry workers and nine Christian early childhood teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi province participated in the study through interviews. The findings indicate that, first, the ministry workers perceived early childhood church faith education to be based on worshiping God and relationships, while the early childhood teachers emphasized its alignments with young children’s developmental characteristics and real-life connections. Second, although the ministry workers strove to provide developmentally appropriate faith education but faced challenges in implementation, whereas the early childhood teachers felt the effectiveness of early childhood faith education but noted discrepancies in teaching methods between trained and untrained educators. Third, to improve early childhood church faith education, both the ministry workers and the early childhood teachers suggested providing education opportunities of understanding young children for Sunday school ministry workers and teachers, and replacing competent ministry workers and considering the timing of their allocation. These findings underscore the importance of Biblically grounded, developmentally appropriate early childhood church faith education and highlight the need for collaboration between ministry workers and early childhood teachers.
