그림책 활용 생태유아교육 수업에서 나타난 예비유아교사의 창조세계 특성에 대한 인식

Pre-service early childhood teachers’ perception of the characteristics of Biblical creation revealed in ecological early childhood education class using picture-books

본 연구의 목적은 그림책을 활용한 생태유아교육 수업에 참여한 예비유아교사들의 창조세계의 특성에 대한 인식을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 S시에 위치한 기독교 대학교의 유아교원 양성학과 3학년에 재학 중인 예비유아교사 21명을 대상으로 그림책을 활용한 생태유아교육 수업을 통해 수집한 자료를 질적 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 예비유아교사들은 하나님 창조세계의 모든 피조물들이 가진 존재의 의미를 찾으려 했고 ‘창조’의 신비로움에 경탄하였다. 둘째, 예비유아교사들은 하나님의 형상대로 빚어진 자신과 피조세계의 모든 존재들은 서로 관계를 맺으며 살아가게 되어 있다는 창조의 ‘관계’를 깨닫게 되었다. 셋째, 예비유아교사들은 하나님 창조세계가 계발과 보살핌을 필요로 한다는 ‘성장’으로서의 특성을 인식하였다. 마지막으로 예비유아교사들은 지구의 생태환경에 속한 모든 것들은 은혜의 선물임을 깨닫고 그것을 누릴 수 있음을 ‘기뻐하고 감사’하였다. 이러한 연구의 결과를 통해 기독교 세계관에 근거하여 이루어지는 그림책을 활용한 생태유아교육의 현장에서 활용할 수 있는 의미 있는 시사점을 제시하였다.

In this study, we explored pre-service early childhood teachers’ perceptions of the characteristics of Biblical creation. These teachers took part in an early childhood ecological education class that used picture books. We conducted a qualitative analysis of data collected in an early childhood ecological education class using picture books from 21 pre-service early childhood teachers enrolled in their third year of early childhood teacher training program at a Christian university located in S City. First, we observed that pre-service early childhood teachers sought the meaning of existence of all creatures in God’s creation and marveled at the mystery of ‘creation’. Second, the teachers realized the ‘relationship’ of creation such that they, who were created in the image of God, had a relationship with all beings in the created world. Third, they recognized the ‘growth’ of characteristics in God’s created world that require cultivation and care. Lastly, they realized that everything in the Earth’s ecological environment was a gift of grace and that it was ‘celebration’ to be able to enjoy it. The results of this study hold meaningful implications for the field of early childhood ecological education based on the Christian worldview.
